The Richmond Beakery is a well established business, providing quality products using traditional methods to local, interstate and overseas tourist market as well as our regular customers on a daily basis, 364 days a year (closed Christmas Day only). Opening hours 7.30am to 5pm daily. We have the best pies in Tassie, gourmet sandwiches and salad rolls with an extensive range of cakes, slices, pastries, served with great coffee or from one of the many teas. Select from a large range of bread to take home.A visit to Richmond is not complete without a visit to the Bakery.
Nothing against the Richmond Bakery in particular, but ....... My wife & I get down to Tassie every couple of years, drive around a lot and live for the day we might find a scallop pie without curry flavouring. We like curry well enough in its place, but why would anyone, let alone every piemaking bakery in Tassie it seems, ruin the pure, delicate, sweet flavour of scallops by throwing horrible curry powder into the mix? Maybe the practice started when some baker tried to mask the flavour of some "off" product and has been continued mindlessly by everyone else to this date. Give us seafood lovers a break! Let us taste the scallops!

Breakfast, morning tea, lunch or brunch, a great menu, fresh food, nice staff and always busy, a good sign for any business. The menu changes from time to time but there is always something 'different' on it. Gluten Free is well catered for here, they even have GF scones!
I would book a table from breakfast Fri-Sun as it can be busy. Winter is lovely and cozy with the fire going.

We spent the night here and the rooms were very clean. The bedding was good and the room was warm, it did however require some repairs / updating. We also ate at the restaurant and the entree was great but we should have stopped there as the main was majorly disappointing.

Nate's Restaurant is a genuinely family friendly restaurant, serving kids meals, steak, wood fire pizza, pasta and desserts. We are fully licensed and carry a suitable range of beer, wine and spirits as well as many non alcoholic beverage options.
The food at Nate’s was delicious. The staff were very friendly and the food was out quick, considering the restaurant was full and they were also serving a private function. Great value for money, definitely recommended.

Old fashioned service and food. Had lovely lamb shanks and mash (real not frozen) and T-bone steak. Veggies were also fresh and not frozen and cooked to perfection. Not wonderful but good value for money and well cooked. If you like no nonsense hearty food would recommend

Given the excellent reviews I have read about this establishment, I am disappointed by our experience. To be fair, it was just before closing time, but the staff member (I wouldn’t say ‘assistant’) basically ignored us.
There were 1 chilli sauce, 1 tomato relish, 1 jam and 2 honeys out to taste on a counter opposite where the staff member was, with some small stale bread pieces. We did so taste, with no staff input, wandered around the shop (which sells a variety of ‘artisan’ cheeses, beers, preserves, chocolates etc at the usual high prices for such products), and bought a jar of the tasty tomato relish from the staff member, who appeared to want ‘an early minute’ as by then she’d put away the few tastings on the counter.
There was no attempt to engage us in a discussion about any of the products or to encourage the (paid) tastings of the wines or spirits. I noticed the sign saying the gin tastings were $5 per ½ nip, so even a moderate amount of tasting would be likely to be an expensive proposition.
It is slightly hard to find, with the entrance being tucked away in a side street.

Couldn't have chosen a better place for a memorable lunch in wine country! The views over the vineyards were spectacular, the modern decor attractive but both were surpassed by the incredibly delicious lunch. The service was professional, fast and personable but you come here for the food. The tempura oysters were to die for, the wallaby a tasty delight and the burrata and tomato salad seasoned to perfection. The wine wasn't too bad either!! All dishes were beautifully presented and could have made the cover of Bon Appetit!! It's not cheap but most memorable dining venues are usually expensive. Would definitely return.

Big range of other produce, including varieties of chocolates, including boyensberry, kahlua, chilli chocolate. Great sop for a cuppa. good outside area with toys for kids. Relaxed casual dining can be enjoyed in the light contemporary restaurant space or out on the Terrace - both with stunning water views out over the vines to the Coal River Valley. Wine tastings and sales from 11am to 5pm. Open seven days a week.
We always bring visitors here as we can rely on the quality of the food, the menu, the service and the atmosphere. Never too noisy and always welcoming. The farm animals add to the pleasure at any age.

This is a heritage listed (1831) house that has been adapted into a charming restaurant whilst retaining many original historic feature. The service is excellent, the food special (we were there for lunch) and the coffee is first class. Reasonably priced and highly recommended
