I am big big fan of lovely Greek cuisine, sea food in particular. I have been to many Greek Islands that have incredible fresh fish and mezes. Unfortunately Thassos is somewhat out of this league. Piatsa Michalis is no exception. Serving is fast, but the food is literally tasteless. All frozen then griIled very dry. I do not want to blame them for any reason, may be Greeks can enlighten us about this untraditional low quality cuisine in Thassos comparing to other Greek Islands.

The staff were a little disorganised when we arrived but things soon settled down.
We were here for the fish as we'd read so much on it.
Whilst I can't say we were blown away, we were very happy customers.
For the price paid we have zero complaints

We had dinner in the sunset light and it was a perfect timing. People are very accommodating and nice (which I believe to be one of the strong suits of Greeks in general), and the food is gorgeous and tasty. We had dorada and grilled octopus and we were both so satisfied with our choice! Also, I recommend you try a kantafi for desert, to end an awesome supper!

The food was awesome, we ate there 3 times, each time ordered different dishes and all were great.
The service was also excellent, everyone was really nice and professional.
The view is great at sunset, the place is right next to the beach.
Also, the free Deserts at the end of the meal are awesome.

Our host told us about this tavern, otherwise we've probably didn't go to, since it is located on the main road, not on the beach. The tavern is preferred by the locals, which in fact is something I was really trying to find on the touristic Thassos island. It has a nice garden, covered with grapevine.
The food was delicious, here I had the traditional kokoretsi - really tasty and a big portion. We had also roasted lamb and some pork and for meze we've ordered zucchini flowers and feta cheese balls with tzatziki, roasted red peppers and Greek Salad - they all were delicious.
I didn't like it though that they put mayonnaise (from the supermarket) near the meat. They could put some greek yogurt with olive oil.

I tried a lot of coctails. All was very good. The chairs not comfortable till 2 drinks. Service is very goodThank you very much for your comment! We took into consideration your word about our design chairs and added some more comfortable chairs and sofa's! We hope to see you again at our place.

There's always a line of people trying to get a table at Taverna Irene. I don't understand why. Other nearby places are just as good. There's nothing wrong with T. Irene though. Good food and very friendly good service at a affordable price.

We were walking into Pefkari one night when we asked a couple for directions, luckily Tomas our new German friend told us we had some distance to go so we changed our plans and decided to return to Potos. Tomas asked if we wanted a lift and said he would drop us at a good Taverna. He took us here which is a typical old fashioned Greek Taverna, friendly, great food, great wine, great night, went home happy.

Fresh, home made snacks and they are for nothing.
We had nice potatoes , the gyros/ souvlaki 2-3 euro is really nice, an ideal snack
Bar looks a little out of place on the strip but should have more custom.

Good food, slow service and frowning.
The food is good, especially the pizza. As for other food, the portions are small for my taste.
The staff is slow and always frowning. I had the feeling that they do not want visitors.
The restaurant is a recommendation only for food.
