Family restaurant which specializes in Polish cuisine and bliny, dumplings, pasta dishes and homemade cakes.
We had lunch here today shortly after arriving in Plock. The restaurant is right in the old town square and is very easy to find.
They had outdoor Seating which was nice with the good weather. Menus were in both Polish & English, waitress spoke Polish & English, and most importantly the food was delicious!
The menu was pretty large with a variety of soups (tomato, flacki, chicken noodle, etc), salads, homemade pierogi (berry, meat, Russian style, etc), fish, meats and poultry. We ordered the roast duck, fried pork cutlet and pierogi- all 3 were very good!
We definitely would recommend this place and we'll be back!

Four adults and 3 little kids around lunch time. We had some very good polish fare like kluski ziemiaczane z serem i skwarkami (potato noodles with cottage cheese and bacon), nalesniki nadziewane (stuffed polish crepes), rosol (chicken noodle soup - AWESOME!!!!) and russian pierogies. Food was very good, well prepared, plentiful and for all we paid about 35-40 bucks w/tip.
Unfortunately they have only one baby high-chair, so there is room for improvement, but this restaurant is a on a little higher end in class, so not many kids are expected there.
Staff was very nice and accommodating, but if you used to waiters checking up on you and your needs this might be test for you. You might have to get their attention, since they rather stay to the side and not interrupt your meal - quite customary in Poland I think.
Decor of the restaurant is ... you guessed Art-Deco ... little fancy but not over the top. If you choose to sit outside, you won't be disappointed in the view. Old market square is very beautiful and it's a great experience. I would give this restaurant 5 just for the bathroom. Extremely clean is an understatement.
Overall GREAT experience, very good food and just big enough portions - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place.

Attentive service and premium food at a good price. To make things better the decor is very stylish and there's a children playground in the courtyard. The visit in the restaurant has encouraged me to try out Herman hotel in the future.

Кафешка расположена практически в центре города, рядом с главной площадью. Забежал сюда на пять минут выпить кофе и остался очень довольным - дешево и вкусно! На выбор было также много всяких пирожков и других сладостей, рекомендую!

A cold and wet night in Plock. Tired after a scary drive in the dark from Warsaw airport. Not many places open in the post-Christmas lull. What we needed was a good dose of classic Polish comfort food: tasty, piping hot pierogi, washed down with chilled beer. The Karczma (~ 'inn' or 'auberge') pod Strzecha delivered the goods, for an all-in cost of well under $10 per head! OK, the decor was bordering on kitsch and the service was somewhat rustic, but the welcome was warm and all the tables were full of enthusiastic locals. So they must be doing a lot right.

I didn't realise this was a brewery until we had sat down and ordered a "light" beer which tasted exactly like a real ale at home. It was really quite bitter for my taste but ha lots of character. The food is really good and the steak is novel because you effectively cook it yourself on the preheated stone slab on your serving dish. No excuse for it not being cooked to your liking!!

Food is good, prices are good, but quality of service is inconsistent, often they forget to serve you the appetiser. Or asking for how you would like to have your meat cooked. Waiting time is between 20-50min. They don't observe the dining room to see if people need anything, thus they are only reactive. And not very friendly.
