The food is very refined and impressive for a small city, although I would say not perfect. The owner cares very much for the quality of the ingredients and the wines and the service is very good.
For the space, I prefer the setting of the Caserio de Mozaga which is less formal, but I think the food at Agua Viva is a little more refined and the wine list is better. Some people here thought it was too expensive. Yes it's expensive for Spain (a bit more than Caserio) but the price is very acceptable for food of this quality and we were pleased to encourage the owner. If you come from a large European city, you will not be surprised by the prices.

Casa Tera is a gem not to be missed. We would walk from Puerto del Carmen to this restaurant. Wonderful selection of foods and very cold drinks. Great staff.

Staying at Playa Honda we came across this friendly place. Full of locals and the odd tourist like us.
We shared a lovely tomato cheese & avocado salad and calamari. The food was lovely. We sat having a few drinks as most of the locals were going. Worth a visit

It is a low-risk adventure when you set out for a meal, and do no research beforehand, because it's rarely so ghastly it's inedible, if the portions are small you can always drop in for a Pizza on the way home, and if it's good, we;ll, you have made a discovery and an opportunity to share your "find" with the Trip Advisor community!
So we chanced upon La Barca last week.
There were not many other diners - usually a warning sign, but then it was a Monday night in February, so the fact that there were ANY diners at all was surprising! We saw the menu outside and decided on the Table d'Hote menu. It was an excellent decision!
Starting with the Ggrilled Camembert cheese surrounded by an interesting sauce, liquidised fruits-of-the-forest (see picture), we followed it up with the entrecote steak with pate (and chips) (see picture) and finished with the Canarian Pudding. A bottle of Vivanco Crianza wine finished the choice.
The meal was rounded off with a complimentary liqueur from the attentive but not intrusive staff, who did everything they could to make our experience pleasant.
In summary, visiting La Barca provided a great "find" to share with the Trip Advisor community!

Our family of seven adults and two sleeping babies visited this restaurant for our evening meal early in October. All of our meals were delicious, freshly cooked and promptly served.
I had smoked salmon for starters, the portion size was huge and it was really good.
For mains we had cod, scallops, tuna, cod pil pil, and some fabulous filet mignon.
All of the dishes were excellent, and service was friendly and efficient.
Our meal was so good that we went back for another meal a few evenings later.
I would recommend highly.

try our pizza 96 hours leavening!!!the best pizza in Lanzarote..
Located on a residential street just a few minutes up from the prom but definitely worth a detour. A choice of superb freshly baked pizza (inc. veggie options) with tables located outside. Premises and toilets spotless. Great welcome from the English speaking crew. Draught beer and soft drinks available. Highly recommended as testified by all the locals supporting it.
