An increasingly upscale village, Playa Hermosa overlooks the Gulf of Papagayo and enjoys a pleasant, tropical climate and family-friendly beaches. Abundant water activities include sport fishing, sailing, scuba diving or snorkeling and leisurely sunset catamaran tours. You and your family will also want to visit the area’s national parks. Try a combination of popular local tours – a full day of horseback riding, swimming and lunch at the Volcan Miravalles National Park or an adventurous Canopy Tour to experience Costa Rica’s ecosystems.Just 10 minutes from Playa Hermosa, the lively village of Coco offers a delightful mix of entertainment and shopping. Bars and discos surround Coco’s central plaza. You might even visit a casino to try your hand at Blackjack or roulette. In Playa Hermosa, stop in for lunch at Laberinto on the beach, and you’ll enjoy an unusual meal at Ginger, an open-air tapas bar on stilts. The wild ginger grows beneath the bar, and the chefs create some very tasty and exotic meals. Try the Upper Deck Sports Bar and Restaurant for a colorful combination of televised sports, cold beer, good food and a pet orphan monkey!

A tapas bar with a twist: Asian and Mediterranean fusion, great list of New World Wines by the glass, cocktails made with fresh tropical juices. Exciting and eclectic cuisine like no other in Costa Rica!
Although staying at a large hotel 15 mins drive away, we decided to order a taxi to get us to this restaurant. We were certainly not disappointed.
Really good welcome from the staff who immediately thanked us for coming.
We arrived after dark and could not properly see the surroundings, but the setting is elevated with a large open area.
I would describe the food as Asian inspired Tapas. The waiter was very good at explaining the menu, and suggested that initially we start with no more than 4 dishes.
We loved it - the setting, the food, the staff - all excellent
This was the best meal during our 18 days in Costa Rica!
Not cheap, but the quality was really good.
It was so good in fact, that we returned the following night.

If you like a restaurant with all the comforts and service, this is a good one.
We went as a group for New Years Eve and had a great time. For $55 USD per person we had a five course meal with champagne (not real though) and a good dining experience. The waiter even brought the two young girls ginger ales that looked like our champagnes.
The staff is very well-trained, the food was very whole-world menu stuff with steak, Thai vegetable salad with beef, chicken and pasta etc. These were all things we enjoyed and, although good, I found my That salad a little bland; very healthy and good though!
Chocolate cake and pear at the end were quite good.
More a fan of local cuisine, I probably won't go back, but if you like your steak and higher-end restaurants, this is a great spot.

This is one of 2 favorite restaurants I love going to. Our standard fare is the fried zucchini and onion appetizer then the gnocchi bolognese then either the coffee tenderloin or the honey tenderloin. The espresso and cappuccino is a nice finale. While being on...MoreI love it!Thank you♡

Our Beach Front Restaurant offers indoor (A/C) and outdoor dining experience. Our menu is based on Contemporary Costa Rican cuisine with a personalized touch by our talented chef. Private events and groups are welcome. Our philosophy is to enhance each visit with a unforgettable dining experience at PACIFICO. Cheers!
The restaurant is a nice, if somewhat schizophrenic space (there's large screen TVs by the bar within a somewhat fine-dining setting). This place doesn't know what it wants to be. There's burgers ($15) and club sandwiches along with chef specialties $20-30). The food was mediocre and the prices were too high given the quality and serving size. Water was $11 per bottle. Coke $4. The ice cream was dry and flaky ... very strange. The service was efficient and friendly, but frankly, this place was just not worth the price and was totally disappointing. Go to Abbocato for better food, setting, service if you're looking for a fine dining in Guanacaste.

Open for Breakfast, lunch and dinner with garden with candle light and air conditioning inside...
I do t see what people see in this place. It is in the publito so the breeze does not get in there. Very stuffy. Meant people walked in and ended leaving as they were never acknowledged. We had a pizza which tastes like a $3 frozen pizza in the states. We had a party of 9. One person who had prime rib never did get their potato. Another got their salad and meal at same time. As for getting a drink the waiter said we’d have to ask the other guy. No way would we return

Abbocato would fit in with fine dining in any city that we have visited in the world. Food, service, ambience, view; all are outstanding.
We had visited two years ago and our server, the chef's wife I believe, truly recognized us and placed that visit by both date and the friends who we dined with. Outstanding!
Vegetarian or vegan options are readily catered to, also.
Reserve your table ahead of time, be prepared for a wonderful evening (or lunch) and soak in every aspect of Abbocato.

It’s so nice returning to Citron and seeing the same wonderful staff and menu. We make a point of making this one of the first restaurants we go to and always our last before leaving. Favorites are the Beef and ginger bowl, pork tenderloin, both of the sea bass items actually never had anything not good.
