Very nice cafe, tucked away from the Main Street. Small eating space, but offers a nice view of the water from the attached patio.
Good quality coffee, fresh baked goodies, and a limited menu for more substantial eats.
Will be stopping back again on my next trip through the area.

Our shop is headquarters for our fine line of Scottish shortbreads, named one of the best in Canada by Canadian Living Magazine. We also retail other local Nova Scotia culinary products. We serve coffee and tea, and array of yummy treats and shivery bits including our signature dessert Sticky Toffee Pudding!!
We waited until this shop opened--it has late morning opening hours. We finally got in after knocking on the door after posted opening time. My partner wanted to compare notes with Mrs. MacGregor on shortbread making. But the guy at the front said "She's not allowed to come out of the kitchen" Very strange and not traditional Atlantic hospitality. We bought one over priced package of shortbread cookies. Only average at best!

Not much open and this place recommended by a local... husband had big plate of fish and chips and I had liver and onions- pretty good and decent prices. Typical restaurant food but works.

Saw the high ratings on TripAdvisor and decided to try out this restaurant while staying overnight in Pictou. What a gem! The staff were friendly and efficient. Great place for a leisurely and tasty meal. We spent 3 hours here from start to finish but it was totally worth the wait. We enjoyed the well priced wine and conversation with our friends while waiting for our appetizers. Highly recommend the Pipers salad- fabulous house made dressing! The portion sizes were very generous and the sides were as tasty as the main entree. Sadly, we had no room left for dessert as I'm sure that would have been equally delicious. Everything is made to order so don't expect a quick meal here. Great atmosphere and view so relax and enjoy! The owner who is also the main chef was a delight. I hope I am that sharp at 81!! Definitely the place to stop and eat in Pictou!! We will be returning!

We are a small, licensed, family run cafe. We try to use local products whenever possible, and are open for breakfast and lunch year round. We carry gluten free products and all our soups, chowders and dressings are homemade and gluten free. Because we start from scratch, we can accommodate special dietary needs.
After the many glowing reviews, we were disappointed when we visited. When we entered the restaurant, the owner seemed too busy to be bothered with us and we found our own table. In fact, all the staff seemed to be out of sorts - it is a small place and I wonder if a "disagreement" with one had upset everybody.
The chowder was good but could have been hotter.

We are from South Carolina and were visiting friends here and they ordered 2 pizzas (medium size I would guess) for the 3 of us. They had pretty much everything on them. This is our second pizza experience here in NS. It's different. The meats were all chopped up and it was a bit greasy. To me it tasted ok, but I'm not a fan even though we consumed both pizzas. Also a bit pricey. The receipt said $44 for the two. Anyway it was interesting trying pizza made a little differently!!

I was in Fat Tony's this past weekend and had a very disappointing experience. Ordered the nacho's and when they came they were barely warm and the bottom portion of the serving completly uncooked. Sent them back and the waitress was 100% indifferent. No apology, discount or replacement offered. Got my bill, paid full price and left. If you are looking for food or drink in and around Pictou I would keep looking. I will.

Harbour side pub located on the Pictou waterfront. Local and international beers on tap. Wine and spirit selection. Also offering outside dining and drinks. Live entertainment
I found myself lost in Pictou and stopped here to ask directions. A gentleman there came out of the building and pointed out the way I needed to go. I was impressed with that so I went to eat there that night. Sat at the bar and talked with Alex, my server, who was a very interesting guy and great conversationalist . had the breaded haddock which was 1st rate. Donna, who poured me a couple of beers was friendly and efficient . I would definitely go back to this place! happy trails

Glad to see the building under a new restaurant with a wide variety of food to offer! Sandwiches, soups, burgers, fish, etc., and with excellent portions. Ordered a burger with onion rings and was pleasantly surprised that there was a reasonable portion of the side (instead of the 5-6 rings you get at most restaurants). Burger was excellent and niece enjoyed her alfredo. Staff was extremely friendly and quick, and the meal was prepared fairly fast as well. Would highly recommend checking this place out!
