an absolute must when interested in maya ruins, it's one of the main places to visit. Well organised and mantained. Take a couple of water bottles, and the walk is not short. A relaxed visit will take some 5-6 hours.

This restaurant is completely oriented towards bus tours. When we arrived at the restaurant, we received a lukewarm greeting and were told we couldn't sit at the pre-set tables. This was okay with us except it wasn't until our meals arrived that they actually set the tables. The food is nothing special and certainly not up to the prices. The worst part was the horrible service. It was unfriendly and after a bus tour came in, we were completely ignored. To finish things off on a bad note, we had to ask for the bill four times and when we tried to pay with credit card it was at that point they told us the machine wasn't working and we could only pay by cash. A terrible night out on holidays - we do NOT recommend this restaurant.

Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and dinner we had El Huachinango! The flavours and freshness of every dish we tried (huevos rancheros, quesadillas, camarone starter & cazuela) were delicious! The atmosphere is lively with locals in every seat, always a good sign and a great people watching experience. The food and beverage prices are very reasonable. Service very friendly.

We don’t understand why this place says “€€-€€€” on TripAdvisor. I had Pasta Roja (vegetarian tomato sauce) for 55 Pesos including bread and a small salad and I had no reason to complain. My brother had a pizza which was also really yummy! Vegetarians have a much bigger choice here than usual. We recommend the Mañanita chocolate banana drink which is almost worth a meal. Also they have live music often, apparently. We went here twice. One time the service was perfect, the other time the waiter seemed to hate his job (or life, we don’t know). All in all a good choice, especially if you’re looking for some Italian food!

This little restaurant, surrounded by jungle (hopefully watc iguanas, macaw squirrels or parrots) offers traditional Italian dishes as well as a session with fusion cuisine creations combining Italian flavors with to the peculiar Chiapas deli. Handmade pasta; pizza, bread and fish in wood oven; cuts of meat; barbecue; seafood. Beautiful view, open terraces and live music. Personalized service, free wifi and a small cellar of Italian wines complete the slogan of the place "just handmade, really unique" . Chef and owner , Alessandra Rustici is Italian, and she is an organic lover.

I visited this restaurant because someone recommended.
I asked for the huevos motuleños and as I was starving, I couldn't be happier when I saw my dish arrive! Lots of fried bananas and a big portion of everything, actually I doulcn't finish it...
If i visit again Palenque, this would be my first option for a breakfast!

Really a huge disappointment since my last visit. I greeted the waiter ,as I always do , with no response and only a sour face. I change table hoping to do better and she did manage a small smile. We loved the food here. Great burgers, great spaetzle, great fish. Also great drinks and a good selection of beer. The owner is friendly and helpful and the service is good. We really liked the atmosphere too. We went back the next night! Highly recommended.

We came back from Agua Azul late and looked for a good restaurant--read a good review for Maya Canada--it was next door tour hotel. Very romantic and intimate tables, overlooking the hotel zone walking street. Beautiful music from a local musician. I ordered the stuffed chicken breast (with an Aztec sauce?) and my wife ordered the pork dish. Both were excellent--and very different, which made it nice to share. I think the total bill was $30 US for one of our best meals in Mexico!

I have visited many times and the latests visit was good, as always. A wide variety of local basic tacos at a very low price. Also excellent freshly made aquas. The best freshly prepared guanábana I have ever tasted. Service is prompt, friendly and attentive.
Despite the common name, a locally owned establishment and not part of a chain.
