The 1000-year-old Norwegian capital sits at the head of Oslo Fjord. This stunning setting gives hints of the wild wonders that lie just beyond the city. From taking in visual delights at Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum, the Munch Museum and Holmenkollen, to the challenging content within the new Nobel Peace Centre and the Holocoust Center, Oslo offers plenty of food for thought. The Oslo Pass allows free travel on public transport, free parking and many museum and sight admissions.

One of the finest gourmet restaurants in Oslo, located in a 17th-century building in the old city centre. The ceiling has some of the finest stucco work in Northern Europe. The chef, Bent Stiansen, won the prestigious chef championship Bocuse d'Or in 1993. Order from the à la carte menu or try the six-course menu of the day. The menu is composed of the best ingredients available at the time Stiansen uses high-quality Norwegian ingredients, coloured by European tradition. Chambre separée for 8-24 persons. In the basement you find the more informal Statholderens Krostue, which is open for both lunch and dinner.
One of Oslo's top restaurants. Everything from decor and waiters to food and wine are of top quality. Bent Stiansen knows how to pleases his guests.

Fjord offers exciting varieties of fish in all forms. The restaurant changes its menu every month so that guests can experience new tastes each time they visit the restaurant. As a guest at Fjord you can always be sure that the food is made from the best ingredients, and each season will offer new and exciting selections on the menu.
We had the cod tasting menu, and the food was superb. So was the wine, and service was nice and friendly. However when you have an open kitchen, and start cleaning the kitchen - loudly - before we reached the main course, you just don’t feel that welcome anymore....

Going out on your own in the rain, without directions or instructions looking for that one great restaurant in Oslo is not always a good idea. Not even if you think to have remembered that Gamle has something to do with the old town. So after entering the - what I thought - entrance of the Gamle district at St Halvards Gate, I wanted to take a taxi straight back to my hotel. Fortunately I decided to take some very unpromising turns towards a churchtower and even more fortunately I ran into Smia Galleri. Lets make it short because the introduction was too long. It would have been great if I hadn't lowered my expectations on beforehand. Now it was simply fabulous.
Very cosy, very nice personnel and very nice food. Of course the booze was very expensive, but I just save a taxi ride back to the hotel!

A cultural restaurant in the Kvadraturen district, inspiring both the mind and the taste buds. The restaurant serves the traditional dishes served at Pakistani celebrations, fragrant delights which can be shared among a group of friends. The restaurant regularly invites musicians, poets, authors, painters and a whole number of other artists, both Pakistani and Norwegian, to entertain their guests, providing a memorable evening out. The interior is stylish and light with white tablecloths and comfortable chairs.
We ate their twice and most of the food we tried was very good. The complimentary Lentil soup served with lemon (top), mango chicken (to my surprise very tasty), kofta (good), mutton curry (ok), seekh kebab and chicken tikka (good), smaosa channa (good) etc. Naans should be little big and thick otherwise food was very good. On top of food was the service by the young lady, very attentive and friendly.

Loved it! Food had international standard and a Norwegian twist: Fresh crap cake, lobster bisque, game and the most delicious strawberry champagne soup yummy! What lifted the experience to top level has super friendly serving with a big smile that made me feel at home as well as treated as a king.
The wine menu would be only average level - good indeed but I have had better

Ruffino is an authentic Italian restaurant that smells, tastes and feels Italian. The menu includes a large selection of antipasti, home-made pasta dishes, seafood and meat dishes, as well as dessert favourites like fondente, tiramisu and gelato. All dishes on Ruffino's menu are available as children's portions for half price. The restaurant is located in Henrik Ibsens gate, close to the Royal Palace and Karl Johans gate.
Okay not a bad place. But seriously the antipasta not special at all. The scallops disappointing. The meat from the charcuterie below average. The bruchettas luke warm. Primo piato we have ordered different items to share. Ravioli really good, the risotto no real risotto rice and not well cooked. Main course also average
Deserts average, and had much better Italian ice creams in my life. The espresso good, but they kept the brand away for us. Service friendly, but keep on filling your glasses when you order by the bottle. So for a no 4 ranking on TripAdvisor very disappointing

Had high expectations when we came. Had booked via email 2 weeks earlier. The staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived. The restaurant is in the basement and quite cozy. We had the tasting menu. Our young waiter seemed a little overwhelmed. Maybe it is just our English. The food when it came was well presented. Unfortunately I found most of the flavours too salty. Overall an enjoyable evening and fair value for money.

Le Benjamin was a surprisingly nice experience with excellent food and welcoming staff that took care of us from the moment we entered the restaurant. Located in this old traditional little wooden house, the feeling of coming home to somebody gives the place a lovely atmosphere. Recommended

At three stars (as they are clearly aiming for at the expense of overall customer satisfaction) this was a HUGE disappointment. Get over Yourselves! Ok food. Ok wine (very cheaply/sparingly served) and å ridiculous spectacle og the kitchen that we felt forced to attend in the middle of a conversation. Simply not good enough. I have dined at plenty Michelin starred restaurants and I think this is just dumb. Did not leave a tip which resulted in a sour waiter/maitre or whatever and er left to find out coats for oueselves. Usually like to give the benefit of the doubt but in Oslo there are a lot of other places to go.

Excellent dinner, with colleagues. Nice central location. Not crowded, although in the middle of the traditional Christmas dinner period. Excellent presentation of the food and wine and it tasted equally good. Would have preferred a better selection on beers. The four course menus could have...MoreHi Rudi O Thank you for your review of Brasserie Paleo, Wish you a merry christmas. Terje Christensen Restaurants Manager
