Oostduinkerke is a place in the Belgian province of West Flanders, where it is located on the southern west coast of Belgium, so that part of it is a seaside resort.

Renowned restaurant at the Belgian Sea Coast. Renovated in 2015. Trendy bistronomy with a contemporary interior. A large menu and choice of seasonal suggestions.
Just great food. Professional and very friendly staff. Some original dishes like e.g. lobster grilled in the green egg (very advisable, super), and of course some pimped classic dishes. The kids had chicken with fries. This was the most tasty chicken they've ever got. So, no rubish for the kids, just top quality.

We love this place which is next to the local fishery museum. We like to go there in the afternoon after walking our dog through the dunes.
They have excellent beer from the tap, the best being a 'Grimbergen '. You can get sour hering, salted fish or small shrimp from the northsea, or a generous portion of cheese and / or salami to go with your beer, but there is also more substantial fare on the menu.
A delightful place to spend a lazy summer afternoon.
The fishery museum is just in front, absolutely worth a visit !

This restaurant was opened in February 2017 by a young couple. Nils cooked and Sofie served us a delicious dinner. Both appetizers and main courses on the fixed menu were picture perfect and delicious. The elderberry dessert was amazing. Sofie's English is excellent and her young daughter charming. A great recommendation from our B&B and at the Carnac Hotel so easily reached by tram.

The restaurant (existing since long ..... and family run) has quite a good range of food, and having some excellent menu's at fair prices. Service is good and fast, fish is advised (I had paling in't groen that was very good).. Best is to make a reservation as often the place is full (being of course an indication that it's good)

"De Roos" has existed for nearly a hundred years now. During the first World War it was a cafe where the customers could enjoy some shrimps or kippers at the bar.Since June 13th 2008 we have been running "De Roos", a cosy family restaurant where quality and fresh products are essential. Our meals are prepared with a sharp eye for detail. After having gained a lot of experience and professional know-how in "De Bergscheure" in Zevekote, we are looking forward to giving you a hearty welcome in "De Roos"!Natacha Vandamme and Steve D'hoedt
The restaurant was packed, (always a good sign), and it looked very inviting from the street. The atmosphere inside was calm with a happy, friendly vibe.
One of the joint owners greeted us at the door. She was super friendly, laughing with all the customers, and very attentive.
The food was wonderful. Recommend the fish soup, cod and the eel in curry sauce.
The other owner heads up the kitchen and he personally came out to talk to customers, checking that they were happy. They took a genuine interest in ensuring everyone was enjoying their experience.
This must be the best restaurant in Nieuwpoort ! Great food & super service.

I had the suggestion of the day for lunch, which was a typical dish (vispannetje), albeit with french fries for I guess the tourists. Before there were some olives as well as pumkin soup and bread. The soup was ok, but lacked flavour. The same can be said for the main course, in which the little shrimp were not freshly peeled, and the whole was rather watery. The service was attentive and friendly, and the setting is nice. Plus point is that it was open, even in November. A negative point for small eaters is that you cannot order just a starter.

Nice decor and Terrace wir-th open fire and view on the beach/sea. Nice place to drink something or for teatime. I would NOT recommend tough to eat there: not enough choices in the dishes, only a few snacks, several salads only available during summertime, suggestions only mentioned at the entrance, ... For sure there're plenty of better places than Chagall to eat in Nieuwpoort.

We learned to know this restaurant thanks to the "bongobon" we received. It is a perfect entry to getting to know the restaurant. It is a steak restaurant which focuses on quality meat. And quality has a price but it remains very reasonable.
The quality is there indeed and the meat is really delicious.
Also the house wine is very good and in my point of view the house wine says a lot of the quality of the restaurant. Also on this point the restaurant provides a very good standard. (Probably because a wine shop is part of the restaurant and so knowledge and quality is present).
Service is perfect with a humouristic taste of the owner and the location is very rustic and in the city centre of Furnes.
A place we will certainly return to when we want high quality steak.
Apart of sundays when the restaurant opens at noon, the restaurant is only open in the evening, which might make reservation a bit difficult during the day. But in our case we were called back and reservation was easy.

Had lunch here several times, and each time we had a very good, woodfire grilled steak, entrecote, or even better filet pure, with a swift and friendly service.
It's a big restaurant, with large 'dining room', lots of tables, and usualy crowded during the season and on weekends, no Reservations possible.
The food is served on a wooden plate, and can be accompanied with several sauces. For the non meat eaters, there is a good shrimp skewer and a belgian shrimp based cold dish.
The south african house wine (from a son of the owner) can be recommended.

Last september we visited this restaurant twice as we had a holiday in Oostduinkerke.
Every time we were welcommed in a proffesional way. The service was very good. Most important: the dishes were of an outstanding quality and well presented. The bill was a positive surprice (if one sees the prices asked in the "tavernes" on the seaside-promenade).
