Alacarte restaurant in Newport offering a selection of local fish and seafood and great steaks. An upmarket restaurant with an emphasis on customer service and attention to detail with crisp linen table cloths and napkins.
We read the reviews and we chose Burr’s for a family anniversary last week.
This delightful small restaurant needs no further accolades from me. It is the tops.
The service is attentive, friendly and efficient but not intrusive with an excellent Maitre D in charge.
We chose the steaks and the rack of lamb from the comprehensive menu, all delicious and cooked to perfection.
It was an occasion to remember. We shall certainly return.

Vegetarian and wheat free options available, a dedicated childrens menu, plus a selection of yummy hot and cold desserts. Two-meat carvery available Sundays 12-3pm. Served with crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and fresh veg. Great outdoor garden, including play area for children, set aside Carisbrooke pond. Plentiful parking and wheelchair accessible.

A wonderful view from this child friendly, very welcoming pub on the Isle of Wight, UK.
I hadn’t been since the new owners took over. I had recently visited their other place, the pointer, so I knew the level to expect.
I had the cod in batter and my partner the pork belly. Both were superb, her pork crackling was crisp and crunchy, the pork just fell apart. My fish was huge, the largest fillet I have ever had. Smaller portions are available. The fries were super crisp but fluffy inside.
We shared a dessert, small portions available too. We had Belgian waffles with vanilla ice cream and brûlée bananas with 2 sauces. Awesome. Great value, good beers and arguably the best views of any restaurant on the island.

Set in Newport's beautiful historic and charming St Thomas's Square, Olivo is a small cosy restaurant ideally situated for alfresco dining. Sit and watch the world go by whilst enjoying delicious Mediterranean cuisine. Olivo has been opened since 2004 serving fantastic food to both the island residents and visitors. We are open daily from 8am offering coffees, teas, pastries, cakes, sandwiches and Panini's. From midday we serve the full menu including pizzas, pastas, salads, mains, daily specials and the children's menu. Evenings at Olivo can be a cosy and snug romantic occasion, or an informal get together with friends or family. All of our dishes are cooked with authentic Mediterranean products complimented with some of the best ingredients the Isle of Wight. We have an extensive wine list with handpicked wines which complement our food beautifully.
We used to love having Olivos as our "go too" place for a date night. But sadly, the vegetarian meals are practically non existent and what they do have has Parmasan cheese in or on it. Which isn't veggie friendly. The tortellini was really nice however WAY to heavy. If choices were put back on the menu then we'd concider coming back. Lovely place to relax, however tables are too close together. But we understand as it's a very small restaurant.

Traditional English Tea Room and Restaurant
This restaurant could really do with decorating, it's such a lovely old building, quaint rooms for dinning, still serving a good cup of tea ( proper tea not bags) in a pot and the cakes are great especially the lemon meringue and cheese scones. The staff are very friendly, prices are good and after twenty years living on the Island I still visit often.

Beautiful pub/restaurant donned out like a ship. Large restaurant areas. Vegetarian options Seating outside overlooking boats and the River Medina. Only prob is they charge for credit cards under a certain amount unlike other pubs like Wetherspoons. You can keep a tab open for extra drinks and dessert but I think this is dangerous as random items could be charged to your card erroneously. They even wanted to charge me credit card fees for two desserts which came to over £12.00 which I think is very mean after already purchasing two meals and drinks.

The Breeze Restaurant and Bar is a lovely restaurant, set within the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of Island Harbour Marina. There are riverbank walks and a lovely view of the River Medina and surrounding countryside. Mill Lane is also only about a mile and a half outside of Newport, branching off of Fairlee Road next to the red and yellow bricked Binfield Cottages (marked with the letters 'HP' in the brickwork). Open daily throughout the year and offering a selection of delicious foods - all of which can be enjoyed either inside the restaurant or outside on the heated decking area. There is also a children's play area outside of the restaurant and ample parking on-site. Although set in a marina, we extend a warm welcome to everyone, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, using locally sourced produce to ensure quality and taste.
Had our xmas dinner there just before Christmas. Excellent food and good service. Also had entertainment later if we wished to stay. Coffee, mints and home made mince pies inclusive in price. Good value. Crackers and all the trimmings plus fish for us non meat eaters.

Busy or not, staff always friendly and portion size and cost make this the best fish and chips around. Ozze is always on the go there and says hello to everyone. The food is always hot and the fish pieces are huge.
Been here so many times ot sure why i have only just got round to writing a review. Oh yeah, i remember, means more people will come and i will have to queue longer. Still, maybe if he opened a second one elsewhere, perhaps Ryde?

went here because we had experienced this places outside catering which was excellent but were disappointed , we opted for the daily special which was a hot chicken baguette with cranberry sauce and stuffing. Unfortunately there was a large amount of stuffing and very little chicken , the accompanying lettuce leaves and four pringle crisps didn't help much either. My coffee was coloured brown but tasteless

After a very long day trip, there was only one thing for it... Fish and Chips...
Now I have friends in this industry, so I feel qualified comment.
This place was absolutely Superb... Possibly the Best Fish and Chips I’ve ever had???
Everything cooked fresh, and a really pleasant welcome to boot.
Simply can’t recommend enough... Wish it was our local. And our local is really good!
