The only way to reach lovely Murren is by taking a series of trains and cable cars. Once you’re there, you’re walking or biking around this charming car-free village. But it’s well-worth the trek, especially if you’re a skier or snowboarder. There are 32 miles of trails plus lots of off-piste opportunities. The sledding is even better. Take a cable car to the summit of Schilthorn for epic alpine views.

We enjoyed dinner here one night in July. Old fashioned dining room, good service, menu seemed to have a good selection of authentic Swiss food. Not the cheapest place in Murren but we were glad we went there. Had the Rosti with sausage and would recommend it.

I had read good reviews about this restaurant; however, as soon as my husband's meal arrived, I knew we had made a mistake. His salad was doused in heavy dressing and the rosti was glistening with oil. My meal was bland and unmemorable. It was definitely the least appealing meal we'd had on our trip.
On the plus side, the service was friendly and fast.

The hotel Oberland's restaurant is located in the centre of the village just an easy 5 minute walk from the train station. We are open daily from 11.30 am to the evening. Our menu has everything from soups, snacks and salads, pizzas, pasta, meat and fish dishes and of course traditional Swiss dishes of fondues and röstis. Our extensive desert menu has something for everyone from a small ice cream to our special chocolate cake. Relax in our garden with a cooling drink in summer or in our restaurant with a hot chocolate in winter. Free parking is available and a bus stop a few meters away.
Ate here once and that was enough of that. In comparison to the other two really good restaurants in the area, this came up short. They had a boring menu slanted toward tourists and the staff didn't seem at all pleased that people were actually eating here and making them work. Don't accept the hype and ate at Steinbock or Restaurant Weidstubli instead.

Perfect before and after your mountain experience. Our restaurant with table service rotates around its own axis in 45 minutes, gliding past more than 200 mountain peaks. We offer a wide range of dishes from snacks to regional specialities. Restaurant opening times: during operation time of the Cable Car
We specifically rented a house in the Lauterbrunnen valley so that we could explore Piz Gloria and Murren. It takes four cable car rides to get to the top of the Schilthorn, but well worth the price and time it takes. Once at the top...MoreDear Zen M We were delighted to receive your positive feedback and look forward to welcoming you again soon to the Schilthorn – Piz Gloria. Many greetings from the Schilthorn area!

The Bergrestaurant Allmend has a familiar atmosphere up in the Mountains. We serve traditional Swiss food and Thai specialities. Already now we are looking forward to welcoming you soon!
Spent a leisurely few hours here after completing 3/4 of the Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen stroll. Perfectly located next to the Allemand train stop. Great variety of local and Thai food. Rusti with egg was delicious. Attentive , friendly staff who went out of the way to welcome us.

Hotel & Restaurant in alpine style and fire place. Large Terrace with breathtaking views
This hotel restaurant is open for visitors, it has a very nice Terrace overlooking the gorgeous landscape here in Mürren.
We had typical Swiss food, very well cooked with a very attentive service from a Portuguese girl.
Prices average for the Swiss standards.
In summary, a very good option for a lunch or dinner in Mürren

Our Restaurant La Grotte is well known for its Swiss and international dishes. Well known for its fondues. Suberb selection of wines.
So gladvwe stopped in La Grotte for our 1st night here. The onion soup was superb. As was the cheese fondue, orange glace chicken and chocolate mousse. The decor was so so cost and tasteful I wished I had stayed there at Hotel Blumentfal!

Asian delicacies amidst magnificent Swiss Alps.
When you're just simply tired of Swiss cuisine try this unassuming Asian spot conveniently located on the towns main street. To be straight up, it was the best service we had anywhere in Switzerland, and the food was just as good.

You already list this as a hotel. I didn't stay at the hotel so can't rate it but want to provide this information: I wandered into Gimmelwald down the path from Murren and met the owner, David, hiking up the path. He is an attractive Brit and very knowledgeable regarding hiking and other activities in the area. I had a coffee on his Terrace and later a couple of pints of beer while chatting with him and others. The view from the Terrace is fantastic across the deep Lauterbrunnen valley to the Mountains on the other side. I didn't get to try his food as the chef hadn't arrived yet, and I didn't see his rooms in the pension part, but this place is worth a try at least to sit on the Terrace for a coffee/beer and enjoy the view. Rick Steves also lists it in his book on Switzerland.
Based on the amazing reviews of this place we were disappointed that the only available food for lunch was bread and a cheese plate. They were really good but I was hoping for a real meal. They were also out of the Black Monk beer advertised in town and on their menu as their own special brew. After we got over our disappointment we sat in the Sunshine on the beer garden and enjoyed our beer and snacks for over an hour. So if you are looking for a lunch meal this isn't the place but if you want a post hike beer and snack it's perfect. The cheese plate was over 20 euros but the cheese was really good and there was some meat on it as well. We got to Gimmelwald on the cable car from Murren - less than 5 minute ride. There really isn't much else to do in Gimmelwald though so we came right back after eating.

Cozy Restaurant with swiss specialites and venison from local hunting Panorama Terrace with comfortable lounge and spectacular view to the Mountains
We did a little homework to find the perfect cosy swiss "Stübli" for our one night in Mürren and were definitely not disappointed with this choice!
Vibe was just right, the service friendly & professional, the salads were super fresh with lovely dressing, and then there was the Fondue.... creamy and delicious with either bread or potatoes, both of which we dipped in kirsch to get the full flavour Impact. Satisfying crust to scrape from bottom of pot.
Ended up with 5dl & 2dl of Epesses (swiss White wine) and thought the whole experience was well priced for everything we had, most of all memories of the perfect Fondue night in the Mountains.
