The historic Victorian-style homestead on Tanti Ave in Mornington has sported many different looks over the past century, and new owners are breathing new life into this stunning property. To delightfully contrast with its old-world charm, Brooklands of Mornington has opened Brooks Restaurant and Bar, cooking up a storm with a modern and relaxed feel. Guests can choose from the restaurant’s casual menu, including such classics as beer-battered fish & chips and free range chicken breast parma, while the á la carte menu has a range of delicious steak and pasta dishes, not to mention desserts to die for. Private dining rooms are available for groups of 8 – 30 guests. In addition, Brooks Restaurant and Bar offers great coffee and light snacks from 7:00am – 4:00pm.
Ordered the bruschetta and the crispy skinned pork belly stir fry Special.
The bruschetta bread was soft, cold and floppy- definitely no crunch or texture to it. The toppings were just ok, but where's the basil and there's no seasoning?
The pork crispy pork belly was horrible, really was. The skin was a soggy and not even close to crispy, the meat part of the pork belly was over cooked and crunchy, but the skin was soft and soggy - yuk. Looks like it was cooked upside down.
There wasn't much stir fry spice and I needdd to ask for chilli sauce (and got sweet chilli?)
All up a very ordinary , overpriced and unsatisfactory meal.
Lost me, won't be back.

We were greeted with a look of shock when we said we had no reservation on a public holiday lunchtime. In the end it was no problem & a table for 2 on the deck was our choice. A perfect sunny day with a view to the lake & vines over the well kept lawns.
First class service was provided by our waiter Thomas, a lovely attentive French fellow who spared some time to chat with us as he fixed the wobble to our table voluntarily.
If you are after a fine dining experience on the Mornington Peninsula then Stillwater at Crittenden have that sewn up. Starched napkins placed in your lap, shining cutlery & glasses added or withdrawn depending on your menu choices. This is the kind of service that makes me feel special.
The 2 or 3 course set menu on offer on weekends had me deliberating & we opted for 2 course entree & main.
Smoked Murray Cod starter was excellent & my Duck main was to die for. Crispy skin rendered to perfection. My friend chose the Sesame seared Tuna & Morroccan Lamb, she was also happy with her choices. We both opted for wines from Crittendens Guipetto range at $9 per glass & 10% public holiday surcharge on our bill was expected.
This was my 3rd visit to Stillwater at Crittenden over a period of about 10 years & I have never been disappointed, even the toilets impress, with french hand soap on tap.
A beautiful venue in a picturesque garden setting with a Cellar door on site as well.

If you love authentic Chinese food that is cooked using the freshest ingredients, then this is the restaurant for you. From the moment you walk in the door, the staff are very welcoming and attentive. The fried rice and the duck dishes are our favourites, along with the crab claws and the home made dim sims. Whether you are a local or visiting beautiful Mt Martha, do yourself a favour and treat your tastebuds!!

We dropped into Cafe Providore because it looked the most inviting coffee shop in the Mount Martha Village Centre. The young staff took our order promptly despite the fact that the cafe was quite crowded. We both had cafe lattes, which were creamy and were deliciously flavoured with good coffee beans. As out-of-towners, we were quite surprised to see how busy the village centre was on a cool day. We will return to Cafe Providore when we are in the area again.

Thank God for the Italians! Great thin crust authentic Italian pizza, friendly Italian wait staff, great salad and a dessert pizza to die for. We sat in the grocery area, surrounded by tins of Italian imported jams and spreads. Busy busy, so be ready for that. We'll definitely go back.

Check days they are closed. Pizzas are tasty and well covered. Gourmet pizzas are also available. It's a Yum from us in Walara Drive.

Offering an array of fresh daily specials and a full tapas list inspired by the Mediterranean, the kitchen menu compliments the rustic and wholesome woodfired pizzas perfectly. Expect to find a delectable seafood paella, a handmade gnocchi that simply melts in the mouth, or a whole chargrilled fish. But don't get too attached to any one dish, as the menu changes daily and is entirely dependant on the availability of fresh and quality produce. Add a hearty and classic kids' menu and it's a fun and welcoming environment for the whole family.
Had dinner at Volpino in Mount Martha with friends from UK. The restaurant was busy with families giving it a very joyous feel. The menu had delicious local specials Local Flinders mussels cooked in garlic white wine and a touch of chilli.......absolutely wonderful plump juicy mussels. DELICIOUS. A wide choice of wood fried pizzas and Mains were also available. With the late sun giving a warm flow across the sky the evening was one to remember....an excellent local family restaurant to take overseas people too.

Mornington Peninsula Brewery is nestled in the industrial estate of Mornington. The brewery has a casual relaxed atmosphere complemented by the beer garden and a viewing mezzanine overlooking the brew house. Together with a tasty menu of traditional wood fired pizzas Mornington Peninsula Brewery makes a welcoming destination for the discerning beer drinker.
Walking distance from our friends’ home made this a great option for a couple of drinks and some wood-fired pizza – without needing to drive anywhere. Although located in a fairly industrial area, the setting is cool and pleasant, surprisingly leafy in fact. We visited on a warm Sunday afternoon and the place was buzzing, with very few spare seats. Our beer drinkers were well pleased with the great brews available and decent, local wine by the glass hit the spot for the rest of us. Wood-fired pizzas are nicely done, with generous toppings of quality ingredients; for the size, they're well priced. Service was friendly, though being as busy as they were we had to wait 45 minutes for our pizzas, which was a considerable delay. It looked like they had 2 ovens and several kitchen staff working flat out so I don't suppose there's much else they can do, just be aware of this and allow the extra time - it's worth the wait. We enjoyed the live music too. Our friends said it can get a bit chaotic with unrestrained kids running around but luckily we picked a good day to drop in, as this wasn’t a problem! We look forward to a return visit next time we’re in Mornington.
