As you cross over to Portugal from Salvaterra this is the first restaurant you come to on the right hand side of the road. They do a modern variation of typical Portugese dishes. Well presented, generous portions, reasonably priced, we paid 95 euros for 5 adults, entrees, main courses, desserts and 2 bottles of wine. The service was friendly, pleasant decor and jazz music playing in the background. Altogether a good experience.

We stopped at Cabral for a late lunch and had a magnificent meal. The stone walls make a nice atmosphere. The pile of goat chops (could have been lamb -- my portuguese is rudimentary) were tender and delicious, and theplate of lulus (small octopus) was the best. Each dish was overly large, but so good that we cleaned our plates. The waiter was friendly and properly attentive. If were in Moncao again, we'll be back.

Great local (meat) food in a place you would not expect. Son of owner is fluent in English (thanks to computer gaming). Very friendly service and good price quality.

Traditional cuisine, with an extensive menu of steaks, seafood, homemade desserts and the best DO wines
Choco a la plancha (Cuttlefish to the iron); Kikos (chicken of less than ½ kilo); Meat; Fish; Paella; etc. Anything you ask for will be good. A delight. The white wine, treixadura, excellent!!!

This tea house is lovely and the location just close to the palace after the woods is very nice.
But we waited over 45 minutes and got no service... we waived at the staff several times but they were so overwhelmed and so unorganised that they were ignoring most of their clients...
Terrible service for such a lovely place...

Recomended by Michelin Guide since 2013 Try the requinte and the elegance of a modern kitchen that valorizes the ancestral knowing and highlight the products of the Region of Alto Minho and of the season.
Wonderful location, very nice decoration and lovely atmosphere. Yet the food was dissapointing, it was nice, good food but it did not fulfill our expectations for a place (and prices) like that. It was average food that you can find in many other restaurants. And I must insist, food was OK.
First course was a bit short (3 asparagous) not appropiate for sharing, second was adecquate amount for one person; don't expect the usual Portuguese amounts. Prices are a bit high but not expensive if you consider everything.
