Thornstroms Kok (Kitchen) opened 30 April 1997. Fourteen years later, we received our Michelin star. We have over 55 seats in the restaurant, a discreet chambre separee for 8 people and our Chef's bar with 9 seats for drop in. Thornstroms Kok offers modern Scandinavian and regional cooking. Our work with the art of cuisine is in constant development. The inspiration is endless and with our creative people the delights of the table reach great heights - heavenly heights, maybe we can say with a star in our pantry. Thornstroms Kok is owned by Anne and Hakan Thornstrom who run the restaurant together with executive chef Billal Andersson, restaurant manager Maja Hempel and senior restaurant manager Peter Hallden.
Nice meal. Duck as a main course was the high point. Friendly service and atmosphere. Handled a small child well.
Non-alcoholic drink matching lacked a bit in creativity. With all the fruit and vegetables in the world, having three variants of apple with berries was a bit much.

At Barrique you not only get an extra special experience of food and wine, but also in service. Go here and hope to get the sommelier Tiego as your waiter for an amazing journey across the world of wine.

Similar to several other TA-reviewers, we had high expectations when visiting Koka for the first time. We have visited Björns Bar several times and the food there is really nice and tasty (and much less expensive). After finishing our main course, my wife and I tried to find a word that would sum up our experience of the food and the service. Pretentious, was the best word we could come up with. The food, as it was described elaborately by the waitress sounded interesting, but the flavors and the presentation of the food (or the wine) did not correspond at all to the description given. Both the starter and the main course were nothing special, nothing to write home about. The presentation, in addition, was colourless and bleak. The dessert was the best course of the three, but also rather colourless and why include horseradish? Finally, the service was also very pretentious, lot's of words but nothing really substantial was said ("mkt or och lite verkstad"). Much more should be expected from a Michelin star restaurant.

Rustic, genuine, italian trattoria. Benvenuti!
I had a dinner yesterday at La Strega and I wish to underline the excellent quality of buffalo mozzarella with ham, great tagliatelle with crab ragù. On the top of all the very friendly atmosphere make this place very special! I really recommend it

For some reason I was expecting this to be a regular pan-Asian restaurant of which there are too many in Gothenburg. How mistaken I was! Vi Viet is a really great restaurant, which makes Vietnamese food with refreshing subtlety. Nothing is too surprising about their menu (not nowadays, at least), but everything is cooked at a level of quality much higher than other places in Sweden. The service is also a highlight, very welcoming and professional.
My only slight criticism is for the over-use of cilantro/coriander. I personally have nothing against it, but on one of the dishes we ordered it was over-powering. Everything else is a solid A.

Vegetarian/mostly vegan mediterranian food. We don't use eggs, flour, butter, Bouillon or cream in our food, so it also suits most allergic people. With a warm and welcoming atmosphere, everybody feels at home!
We visited for breakfast which was so good we went back the next day for lunch. The people are so warm and friendly and serve lovely fresh Mediterranean food. We had a great breakfast platter which included lots of different elements and home made lemonade as an added bonus. Highly recommend if you are in the Haga area.

If you want to experience the Swedish delight known as the kebab pizza, I highly recommend (and would almost guarantee that you won't be disappointed) that you eat one here. Now. Every day. Eat one. Eat two, but whatever you do, eat the kebab pizza here. I have been in the area a few times, and each time we make a special stop to enjoy their delightful kebab pizza.

An ordinarie week Day. No need to reserve a tabletter. The queue for takeaway good is quite longxyak but we sit down and order yakuniku (entrecote) and yakitori (chicken) and to drink Asahi (japanese beer). Quite tasty and no small portions. The place is renewed last month and the service OK. The owner is very attentive and kind. Recommended for the small wallet.

The food is classic old american style with a traditionel swedish touch.
This restaurant came as a trip advisor recommendation and we loved it! Quaint, small place packed with locals - so much fun! At times, it felt like I was sitting back in San Francisco with the slightly hipster vibe, retro CCR/70’s music backdrop, and interesting people close by. Craft cocktails, delicious burgers, all local and well prepared. Our server was so nice and we enjoyed every moment! Good portions and enough to share with others. Suggest a reservation unless you get there early on the weekends as it does fill up!
