nice country house, very kind staff, excellent view of lake zurich...
the food is very good: the garlic soup (presented inside a piece of bread) is great; their seasonal asparagus with holandaise sauce were great, meat was good and their young chicken (mistkratzerli) is excellent in the different recipes (altough i would recomen the hanegg mistkratzerli, that brings three different sauces). besides, the desserts are very good, specially the coupe tiramisu
out of swiss standard lunch and dinner times, they offer a short list than can be helpfull when arriving a bit late for lunch
the wine list is short and expensive
pity that the prices are actually very expensive for most of the specialities, reaching an average of 60 / 75 francs per person (without wine) which is rather on the high side for this sort of cuisne / place

As it says in the title. I wouldn't bother with this arrogant place again. It is horribly overpriced especially if you order wine.

The restaurant is located within the greates hiking areas near to Zurich and know this. The food is really everyday standard and expensive for what the quality is. Positive is that you can sit nicely in the grade and enjoy the view to green.
I would recommend the restaurant only for a coffee and enjoy the food somewhere else.

We booked this restaurant for a birthday celebration. Even though it was very busy for dinner on 17th February , the service staff attend to our every little details efficiently. Food was served fast , deliciously prepared to our expectation. We enjoyed our time dining here for this auspicious occasion . It is worth the time and great value for money spent here at Restorante La Fontana in Horgen !!!

It's not so much a "fun place", rather conservative, but people are basically friendly and the food is very good! Local specialties and fish from the lake Zurich! The view in summer is spectacular and you can have beautiful walks in the surrounding! Very nice also for coffee / cake in the afternoon on a sunny weekend. They to have a hotel, too.

Very good food and wine, although quite expensive. Service and location are great, right in the middle of the town in a medieval historical building, that now serves as hotel.

It's a nice place, just next to the lake of Zurich. However, the food is average, nothing special. My potatoes weren't cooked completely, the rice didn't have enough salt but the fish was oversalted...

Consistently good on a couple of fronts: service, food and value. Huge menu and specials too. We had wonderful crispy duck.
Portions are large, so 3 mains for 4 heads would do it.
About CHF 75 per head for a party of 8 with a few drinks.

There are two restaurants: one with the nice Terrace offering fish and other specialities and the other one which is a simple BBQ place serving sausages, chicken nuggets, salads and fries. The latter is nice for families with kids. They charge 5 CHF for a cervelas sausage with bread.

We had a dinner in this nice restaurant, altough the decoration is a little bit old
We seat on the closet terrasse with nice view of the lake.
The service was friendly and professional and all dishes explanations were in English.
The chiken massala and tandouri meet were tasty
I must mention that I received my bier in broken glass...
