We had a small family wedding reception here in the summer. We had arrived from the River Rhein boat tour, which has a stop off directly to the restaurant, it was very convenient. It is a beautiful building and has a very spacious dining area inside as well as outside, overlooking the River Rhein. The property around the restaurant is serene and natural, perfect for a nice walk during the day. The interior decor is classic and beautiful. The food and service were impeccable. As we had a wedding reception, they had accommodated us with a lovely section and gave us privacy to allow for small speeches and moments, from the other patrons. Lovely, 5 star food and presentation. Perfect place for special occasions or even business meetings.

for me, though it's not glamorous at all, it's the best Restaurant in Duesseldorf.
Highly sophisticated art of cooking (international base) on the one hand, highly sophisticated in the other hand for "regional" food. Always changing menu, no boredom at all. Though the location is not glamorous and though you cannot make a reservation, I queue up. There's j just one other Restaurant in the world, in Paris, where I queue up. Hoping that it will be better in the future with a new location just beside I will go on queuing...

Any restaurant packed to near capacity on a Tuesday night and with a clientele of mature loyalists must be doing something right.
Service is theatrical, food varied and flavoursome. We shared mixed starters as recommended by Amici which helped with the choice and then had individual mains. Both fish and meat choices were consumed with equal passion. Biscotti with coffee a delight.

I chose this hotel because I had to make a last-minute business trip to the 'BOOT 18' trade fair at Dusseldorf Messe. The fair is enormous, and spreads its influence over hotels far and wide; so many were full and all were expensive. I chose the Landhaus Ilverich on the basis of price and proximity. At €200/night single, and 5km from the Messe, it seemed fair value.
I was wrong. It's on the wrong side of the river Rhine, and the wrong side of the Autobahn. So the manageress may claim that it's 5km "as the crow flies". But as I pointed out, few of her other customers were crows; and I was not a bird. As the tourist trudges, it's 17km and a €30 taxi ride to the Messe, or 1 hour 20 minutes minimum by public transport, using three links [S-Bahn, U-Bahn, (hourly) Bus].
When I arrived, hungry after a long flight, I was told that the kitchen and restaurant were shut. The nearest place to eat they could recommend was 8km and a €15 taxi away. They promised the kitchen would be working the next evening, but I preferred to eat in the city centre, to be sure.
The room was roomy and very clean; but as it was in the attic, half of it was under a sloping roof, without standing room. The bed was comfortable, and the shower basic, but modern and clean.
Breakfast was very fair: a limited buffet selection, plus an optional boiled egg. But everything on offer was of very good quality.
Overall, if you take this as a good, roadside 2-star hotel garni/guesthouse, 17kms from the Messe, you'll not be too disappointed. But try not to pay €200, for a room worth between €50 and €75.

Tonight, we went to the restaurant Late Weinschaenke in Meerbusch-Lank. What an awesome place! The restaurant is quite new.
Alte Weinschänke is located in a pedestrian area in Meerbusch-Lank in an old building.
The building is very well retaliated with a fireplace in the middle of the restaurant, comfortable chairs and nice tables. It's a beautiful mix of old and modern. We had a trilogy of salmon with a perfectly done grilled pice of salmon, a salmon tartare and a pice of Balik salmon. the main course was a wonderfully prepared halibut filet with sweet potato gnocchi and a fantastic foam sauce. The halibut was quite a large portion. Therefore, we skipped the desert but rounded of the meal with a glass of grappa provided by the owner. The service was excellent. I made a reservation for a few days from now and I'm convinced that I will not be disappointed. Pricing was not cheap but absolutely in line with the service and quality provided. Late Weinschaenke is defiantly a great addition for Meerbusch and the North Dusseldorf area.

located un the heart of the little Meerbusch-Lank village it always feels like vacation while staying in this great restaurant. Excellent dishes, original Italian taste and well served by a very nice host and his staff. We have tried pastas, seafood and meat dishes - all were excellent and pefectly maintained. Although, no pizzas, what represents the style and atmosphere of this little restaurant jewel.

This is a good place to go if you want your fill. The portions are large and the meat of good quality. Food style is German to Balkan. We enjoy going here when we don't want to cook for ourselves.
They offer theme days at reduced prices: "Schnitzeltag"; "Steaktag"; etc.
Can be recommended but not if you want anything fancy.

At first glance this doesn't look like a restaurant because of where it is situated however if you do find it, then you found a real gem. Nestled in the back are some great seats in a "winter garden" like room. The atmosphere is very warm with candles and dark flooring and high ceilings. I enjoyed a delicious mouth watering Steak, cooked to perfection, but the portions were so big that it was difficult to finish. The desert came out in three glasses; each a different style. I can only describe the fast and attentive service as being Fantastico!

The Strümper Hof is a very good restaurant to enjoy quality food and service. The atmosphere is friendly and the restaurant in general is of a high standard. We have enjoyed both casual meals as well as family celebrations (the restaurant offers a separate room for private functions). The staff are always willing to go that extra mile to satisfy the guests.
Try it and enjoy!
