At first glance this restaurant may look a bit shabby but inside it´s great. It has a bit of a medieval atmosphere. There are some nice beers available. The food is really good and portions are big. Staff is very friendly. It´s not cheap but this place is worth every penny. We wil definitely come back!

This remote restaurant is a great experience to enter. Expectations have been set as the Belgium BBQ master has his restaurant here. The thick tables, the open kitchen and the meat chamber are great. Nevertheless the food disappoints a bit. The meat is not bad, but for these prices you would expect a bit more. The edge is missing and I have had better meat in similar restaurant.

Schitterend grill en famolie restaurant.Mooi kader.Zeer goede prijs-kwaliteit.
Lovely restaurant and helpful and very friendly staff/owners. We stayed in their holiday cottage just next door. We had the set buffet style menu which was surf & turf and was smashing. Would def recommend this place

My steak was ok but average , Steak of my friend was a piece of meat full of grease, nerves and fat - really not worth presenting something like this in a restaurant.
Coffee was forgotten after the dessert.
The other plates where ok - but restaurant is very overrated in my opinion
Great location and interior.
But won't go back there immediately.

We finally succeeded in visiting this restaurant (since it moved to this new location). It's not easy to get in during weekends. You have to make a reservation well in advance.
We had something to celibrate and went last thursday so no problem getting a table.
We chose the menu and had great lobster as first dish. Everyone of us found it delicious ...
Our main menu was a very nice piece of meat (sorry, forgot the exact name) with a super-fantastic heavenly pepper-sauce and fresh french fries.
We ended this great evening with chocolat moulleux and/or cheese.
Really a place to visit !!! Even if you are not from the region ....
We certainly will be back !!!

Came by to this place by chance, driving from Belgium to Amsterdam. They had a lunch special, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service perfect! It's worth a detour for a lunch inside or outside, weather permitting. It was a pleasant surprise in a small village.

Ate here with a group of friends a couple of weeks back, no English menu, but the lady who served us (I presume was the manager /owner) was more than happy to translate and make suggestions on what we should try. They served us an excellent Flemish Venison stew, a great recommendation and the choice of desserts was good as well. Given that we rolled in at about 9pm, which I believe is quite late for dining in Belgium, we were well looked after and left with a warm glow from the stew and great Belgian beer!

Go for the small or big tapas menu and you will be amazed. Very tasteful and wonderful looking tapas with good wines in the center of Maldegem, close to the Canadian-Polish Warmuseum and cemetary.

We booked a table here on a Monday when very little else was open and were very pleased with our meal. The choice is limited but customers can design there own meal from a list of meats/fish, a choice of sauce, hot or cold vegetables and a choice of potato cooked in various ways. The food was freshly cooked so we did not mind the wait as there was a nice selection of Belgian beers to pass the time. Do not be deterred by the modern cafe frontage, the restaurant at the back overlooks a pleasant garden and is well presented. The staff are friendly and helpful.
