The quiet capital of Malawi, Lilongwe is divided into New and Old Towns. The Old Town is where to go for bustling stores, markets, cafes, hotels, and restaurants. The New Town houses embassies, international aid organizations, and corporate headquarters. A large expat population has made Lilongwe a very Western city, and a perfect stopping point for tired travelers to relax and pick up some essentials for their trip to the country’s wildlife reserves or to the beaches of Lake Malawi.

We ate here a couple of times while in Lilongwe. Both were enjoyable although the service was not fast. Excellent range of food. Servings were generous. Good coffee available although they couldn't make an iced coffee. They gave me the coffee and glass of ice separately!

We are a fine dine Authentic Italian Restaurant Our focus is quality food & service Being in the hospitality industry for over 24 years we do not believe there is any compromise when it comes to food & the service We look forward to serving you ☺ Thank You a presto!!!
We absolutely loved the caprese salad with pesto. We also tried the eggplant which was above average and the margherita pizza (thin crust by default) was above average. Their hot sauce is delicious and very spicy. Multiple varieties of hard and soft bread are served...MoreDear Patron Thank You So Much For The Review Management

Frequent visitor to Buchannan's Grill but mainly at lunch times on Friday and Saturday.
Great fillet steaks and wonderful salads during lunch hours but not so good during the evening.
It seem like there are two different teams working the shifts. The daytime food and service is great but not so hot on an evening. That is my experience for the main restaurant. The bar food however, on an evening was fine even if the service was a little slow, especially on a Friday and Saturday.

I have never eaten in a Chinese/Indian restaurant before. It was interesting! The food was good and the service was impressive too!

Pleasant Indian food, nice dishes, good service, the medium hot was mild, curious about the really hot food. Enjoyed eating here, quite some expats, but also locals. Good amount of choices. Loved the mutton

Situated at The Gable End complex, Lark offers a range of salads, wraps, sandwiches and burgers, (and a weekly specials board) all with a healthy twist! Childrens menu available, as are milkshakes, home made iced teas, fresh juices, coolers and delicious coffees - including "Red" coffees. The only supplier in Lilongwe of Satemwa Tea Estate's fusion teas! Childrens playground on site too!
Had lunch with a friend after it came highly recommended, and so glad we got to hear about Lark Cafe! Has both indoor and outdoor Seating and lovely environment.
Food was exceptionally good and offered something different compared to other places. Ice tea's were also very nice and refreshing - definitely worth going there!
Service was very good in comparison to other places in Lilongwe.

Location: Ama Khofi is set in the garden centre at Four Seasons, with covered Seating next to the garden centre shop, and outdoor tables surrounded by plants and under webbing to keep the leaves out of your food. The tables are well spaced apart, and a water feature keeps a suitable amount of background noise. The spot is a favorite for young professionals having a working lunch.
Service: The service is friendly and attentive. The owner often floats between tables checking everything is to your liking. You'll leave feeling looked after but not hung on to. The food is also relatively quick in comparison with other places in Lilongwe.
Food: Exactly what you imagine will be served at a garden centre. Think sandwiches, interesting salads, quiches. Also noodles, burgers, and samosas. The portions are good sizes, and the menu doesn't change very often. Expect to pay around 5-7,000MK for a main. Also has an impressive soft drinks menu and maybe the best iced coffee in town (2,000MK). There is always a selection of baked goods - cupcakes, pastries, etc - for a sweet tooth. Take away boxes are 150MK extra, and you'll need it - these salads are pretty filling!
Overall Ama Khoji fulfils a much needed niche in Lilongwe. The atmosphere, accessibility, and reliably good food.

Award nominated chef Richard Greenhall and Andrew O'Hallaran have created an eclectic menu, that transports the diner from Lake Malawi to Asia and the distant Mediterranean. The list of fifty superior wines from South Africa, complements the culinary journey, turning every meal into a special occasion.Dinner in the main restaurant is relaxed, whilst lunch al fresco on the Terrace by the pool and Gardens, is sublime.
I went here with people from the office - bit of a drive, it seemed, but lovely when we got there. Very friendly welcome and service throughout was great. The menu was a bit limited, and the food was - well - fine, but not spectacular. At that price (and in that setting) was expecting a bit more pizazz. Overall a nice place, but not a spectacular one

I very much enjoyed my meal at the Copper pot. Service was good and food was very good. The food here is authentically Indian- the Dhal Tarka a particular favourite of mine. I would eat here again even if I were staying at somewhere different (not the Crossroads Hotel. Recommended.
