Langkawi is a serene archipelago of 140 islands – only a few of which are inhabited. The largest of these is the eponymous Langkawi Island, which has UNESCO World Geopark status because of its richly populated (by wildlife, that is) conservation areas. The best way to experience these ecological wonders is from high above, on the Langkawi Sky Bridge that stretches above the rainforest. Cheekily-named Pregnant Maiden freshwater lake is a great place to take a dip or play keep-away with the kleptomaniac monkeys.

Very atmospheric place to eat, with brilliant service and tasty Thai food. Extensive menu, although if you prefer food Thai spicy please ask, as the roof caters for people who like medium spiced food. The cocktail menu is great, try a aTorpedo! The wine list is comprehensive and caters for all tastes and budget. We were staying at the Andaman hotel and ate here 3 times, that tells you how good this restaurant is. It is only a 10 minute walk up the beach, and Thayer will provide a buggy from the beach restaurant up to the lobby, although the walk up to the restaurant is beautiful.

13 Years old of this restaurant, moved out from pantai ceneng to Ulu melaka, just 7 minuets drive from airport and 6 minuets drive from four season resort or Tanjung rhu resort, we provide pick up and drop on your request.Beautiful Panoramic view, lavish valley and real sun set, peaceful dining experience in middle of real paddy fields.Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, specialty and recommended by chef jimmy, group booking up to 200 people. COOKING LESSON FROM 10am to 12 noon
The restaurant has a fairly remote location. I did wonder what we were in for as we went down some narrow/dark side streets on our taxi ride there. However, upon arrival my concerns faded. It’s a well set up venue, and we were given a warm greeting. The place was empty though, and we soon learnt the reason why – they close at 9pm, and we had arrived just after!
Jimmy (the owner) came over to explain this to us, but also assured us that having come all the way there, he was not going to turn us away. He invited us to enjoy our meal at our leisure, which was really nice of him.
They have a whole menu available, but the headline dishes are included within the set menu (3 courses, with a choice of 3 main courses – we went for beef rendang and the butter chicken). Included also was steamed rice and some veggies. The main courses were excellent! Authentic flavours with a home cooked feel. We were less excited about the included starters (spring rolls/samosas) and the dessert (mango kulfi). These weren’t bad, but didn’t really stack up versus the mains.
Although an open air venue, it is well ventilated, and even late at night, there weren’t any bugs/mosquitos around. Being late, we did miss out on the (padi field) views though. Jimmy chatted to us a bit during the meal, and he is an interesting character! He stressed that we shouldn’t feel rushed, although naturally we did try to be quick out of politeness.
The set menu was priced at around RM 80 apiece and included drinks (juice and beer). Overall, this was a really enjoyable meal, probably one of our favourites of the holiday. I’d definitely recommend it, but go early!
Note – they don’t take Reservations, nor do they accept credit cards.

We went to this resturant on a rainy night in Langkawi and had cold beer and good food. Do not go here for fine dining or excellent wine. Order whiskey on the rocks or cold beer.
This resturant is owned by a couple as I understand it and is frequented by numerous regular patrons based on the conversations going on at the bar - everyone knew one another.
This place offers excellent, modestly priced dinner fair in a roofed open air setting. There are numerous daily specials in addition to the menu.
We would go back but ask to be sat on the absolute edge of the resturant as everyone in this place smokes - there is no way to avoid it so do not go if you cannot abide smoking whilst you eat. It was hard on us as we obviously do not smoke.

Set in the beautiful grounds of La Pari-Pari, fatCUPID is tucked away down a quiet lane off the main Pantai Tengah strip. Owned and operated by three cousins, the restaurant features recipes from their family's rich Nyonya heritage, incorporating dishes learned from their Grandmother, and some Aussie favourites that are a reference to the cousins' shared experiences living in Australia. Great for a laid-back breakfast or lunch, and a fantastic intimate venue for a quiet, cozy dinner.
Located in a back street near the main road of Pantai Tengah, this little restaurant offers Malay and Western dishes for dinner (also breakfast, but did not try it). Given the ‘remote’ location, it creates a quiet, peaceful atmosphere to dine. The Terrace tables al have candles successfully fending of mosquitoes, which is welcome, however applying a little bit of bug repellent when you come wouldn’t be such a bad idea. The food was both times great. The beef Satay and Aunt Lynette’s Wonton are really tasty appetizers, which I highly recommend. The beef rendang was good as well, just spicy enough for me. Staff was friendly. I will definitely come back again when visiting Langkawi!!

Located in a mature garden setting, we provide outdoor, indoor and patio dining. Draught Guinness and Tiger beer available at our rustic Terrace bar.We specialise in home cooked Irish/European food prepared by former QE2 Chef de cuisine.
No doubt, it has excellent taste of food. 5 of us ordered different meals and we enjoyed it to the max. However, the place is full of mosquito and insect, maybe we are sitting outside near to the grass and water area.
But, if focus only the food, you will need to have a try.

The Verandah lounge epitomizes the glory of an era gone by, with its soaring high ceilings, magnificent chandeliers and towering pillars. The open plan living area and the cigar bar is the perfect setting to enjoy cocktails once the sun has set. Guest will have a choice either to sit at the bar, indoor or outdoor area. This intimate lounge aims to charm the guest with its modishness prior to or after dinner.
Whilst staying at The Danna Hotel, we had some after-dinner drinks in The Verandah. They have an amazing list of drinks (cocktails, wine etc) and they often have entertainment such as singers or a pianist as well. The service was exceptional and it's a lovely atmosphere in the evening.

Authentic Korean food is freshly served.
Had the Korean BBQ. Service was good. But the flavours were not. After Reading such positive reviews, I was surprised that the beef was not very well marinated. It didn't help that it was also over-cooked and tough. In contrast, every one of the little side dishes was too salty: fish cake, omelete, some kind of vege pancake. Even the gochujang sauce. I know the gochujang is usually quite salty - but the other flavours also need to balance the salt too. That didn't happen here. You might be asking: why didn't I just mix the beef (lacking in marinade) with the gochujang and kim chi, or side dishes, to combine the flavours? I did. I had to. But it was like flavours clashing and fighting - rather than working together like an orchestra. This kind of beautiful harmony was what I had experienced at Daorae Korean in Melaka last week. And after Daorae, this experience really let me down.
