A gorgeous spot that’s a convenient day trip from Milan, Lake Como recently earned fame as home to Hollywood star George Clooney. But celeb-spotting aside, it’s known for jaw-dropping natural beauty, elegant old villas—and the scenic towns surrounding the lake. Check out Varenna, Bellagio, and Menaggio, which offer great views, historic churches, and water-based activities such as ferries and passenger-only boats.

We would like to thank all our guests that visit and reviewed us in our first 8 years of activity, Deborah & Joost. Our Winebar-Enoteca is specialized in platters prepared at the moment with local sliced cuts and cheeses.we don't not serve pasta, or maincourses because our philosophy is doing just a few things...but done in the proper way. Genuine ospitality and our motto "come like a guest go like a friend"
Stopped in for a glass of wine before heading to La Darsena for dinner. We sat outside on the amazing roof top bar under the grapes and lattice. Service and wine flight were amazing. After dinner and walking by again he decided to stop in for a glass of wine to end the evening and sat inside to enjoy the cave like feel. What a wonderful experience. While we did not have any food we did see others eating and it looked very good. A must stop!

This was one of the most special moments of a summer-long trip across Europe. The chef's wife picked us up and drove us up the dizzying mountain road. Incredible views! Upon arrival, the chef came out and welcomed us. He was well-aware of my gluten intolerance as he had answered the phone when I called to make our reservation. We had the tasting menu and it was divine. The risotto was the best we've ever had, regardless of restaurant price. The chef even gave out his recipe--not that one could ever replicate it. We had more food than we could manage, wine with dinner, and my husband had what seemed to be endless glasses of limoncello--all for 60 euro. When we were ready to go, the chef drove us back to Varenna. Fantastic experience! We cannot wait to return.

Can't complement this place enough. All the courses I had were excellent. It's small so Reservations are recommended but worth any trouble eating here. I can see why they get such good ratings on Tripadvisor. Great music in the background for what amounts to a trully memorable dining experience. One of the best I have had. Six stars.

Not the easiest place to find and parking is a little around that area. But well worth it.
Pleasant family restaurant, extremely accommodating. Good wine choice, and sensibly priced.
The lemon ravioli is excellent, as are the desserts.
Sitting outside can be challenging unless weather is perfect.

I almost don't want to write this review because this place should be kept a secret. Yet, at the same time, I want Angela and her family to continuously serve their magnificent meals. This place is IMPOSSIBLE to find. Google maps will get you there to a certain point...but beyond that I can only recommend that you brush up on your Italian. You'll have to ask for directions. The stairs that lead you to the gated property are made of stone and they are located on the other side of a little town. We had to walk through a couple of narrow roads to find the trail head. It felt almost intrusive, but totally worth it! We were greeted with wine and roasted hazelnuts and then course after course of delicious Italian cuisine. Almost everything we ate was produced and grown on their farm. It was a perfect experience. Absolutely perfect. You have to make Reservations and Angela speaks english very well. If you are lucky enough to find this place...go!

I highly recommend Da Gigi. They offer an excellent menu with choices combining local ingredients with a bit of eclecticism. Moreover, extremely friendly and informative service is thrown in for good measure. I could not resist trying at least one of the antipasti, primi, secondi...MoreDear badgertra, thank you for your words, we always try to do our best for our guests. It's a pleasure to know when they are happy for the experience in our restaurant. We hope to see you again, Da Gigi

The CavaTuracciolo is a 18th Century cellar which has been completely restored. There is to be found a selection more of 300 labels of local and national wines which can be tasted together with selection of fishes of the lake, mixed meats and cold cuts, cheeses and pasta's plates. Our wine cellar is dedicated to a continuous conscientious quest for products which will serve to highlight the regional diversity characteristic of Italian viticulture.
So rick Steve’s has wonderful taste, this I know from taking his recommendations several times on all my trips! This place is tucked on the back of when you first arrive by ferry, we went in for a late lunch and had the places practically to ourselves until a bit later when more people arrived. It’s like entering a cute little cave! Great service and knowledgeable staff on the extensive wine list. I had a glass of champagne that was one of my best! Loved the cheese a d salami platter for two, incredible price and presentation. This place stands out for its charm and great food and service! Go here instead of those overpriced places on the harbor, you won’t be disappointed! Loved it!!

I have been to this trattoria with my family few day ago to celebrate my wife's birthday. We have been eating outside in a hot summer evening.
The location is quite good even is some mosquitoes bit us
The quality of the food is really nice. The famous "penna alla costa" are really to be suggested, but also the blackberry pasta is really good.
Another good point is about the Braulio ice cream, for sure something surprising.
Finally, the price was right (80€ for three persons)

Restaurant open only with reservation! winery with tasting of Lake Como tipical cuisine. reservation only. Seasonal opening or reservation only.
My wife and I had dinner here with friends as we explored the area around Lake Como. Fantastic food and friendly staff. Our hotel recommended this place to us, and made Reservations otherwise on a Saturday evening we probably wouldn't have found a table. I would highly recommend stopping here.
