National Monument and Private Gardens This magnificent villa, built in 1808 for the Duke Francesco Melzi d'Eril, assistant to General Napoleon, is one of the most emblematic examples of neo-classicism in Lombardy.....The Gardens Are visitable March to October every day 9.30 am to' 6.30 pm
We paid the admission although the villa was closed. The Gardens are beautiful , even in the beginning of November. Autumn colors abound. They front Lake Como with gorgeous views. Unusual horticulture . This is a great walk to get back to the water taxi.

If you are interested in cycling history you absolutely have to visit this museum and chapel. The small church overlooks the lake and has the race bikes of the late Fabio Casartelli and Fausto Coppi amongst other memorabilia. The museum is much more extensive, retracing cycling history with both ancient and modern bikes and displays.

This is what Italy is all about when you visit this scenic park on Lake Como, as you gaze upon the magnificent views of the distant Swiss Alps that seem to touch the waters of the lake.
Bellagio is an absolute gem, sonold world, peaceful and picturesque. The lakeside location is just perfect abd its less than an hour along a winding road from the city of Como itself.
The very best views of the lake come here at La Punta as you see the lake split in two from here. If you can imagine Lake Como as an upside-down Y, Bellagio marks the point where the split occurs, hence La Punta Spartivento. The views are just wonderful here at any time if the day, especially sun sets over the Mountains. A wonderful place with plenty of benches to sjt on and enjoy the view, a short walk from the centre of Bellagio village

This beautiful villa was built in 1873 surrounded by elegant Gardens and park-like grounds with sweeping views of Lake Como.
We rented an apartment in Bellagio and the lovely Italian lady next door told us some history on the Villa & the princess who owned it.
We wanted to find out more so booked the 11am tour. The tickets r sold at the tourist office in the old tower next to St. James church.
Our tour guide was so knowledgeable & completely approachable, inviting us to ask as many questions as we wanted. Excellent value at €9 each for 1 1/2 hours. Thank u so much for an interesting & enjoyable walk.

A lovely old church right in the centre of the beautiful village of Bellagio, right on the Main square in fact so it's hard to miss!
It is small and quaint and for me the highlight is the beautiful domed mosaics in such vibrant golds and bright colours.
It is quiet and serene, a total contrast to the hustle and bustle of busy Bellagio by day. But it's lovely in the evening too in the soft light of the village when all the crowds have gone back to Como and beyond.

The narrow, steep streets of the village lead to the Romanesque church on Piazza della Chiese. The cool, dark interior slowly reveals itself as your eyes become accustomed. I found the mosaics the most impressive. Their golden hues were truly striking.

Very helpful friendly service. Helped us choose several nice bottles of wine and did a balsamic tasting for us to choose some great real balsamic vinegars to bring home.
