La Fortuna de San Carlos is at the center of an array of geological wonders. The nearby Arenal is Costa Rica's most active volcano, routinely bursting with lava and ash, and the Catarata de La Fortuna is a waterfall pouring from a seventy-meter cliff. The Tabacon Hot Springs are a relaxing intermission in the midst of the various spectacles, and the Leaves and Lizards Arenal Volcano Cabin Retreat is a blissful end to any day's excursion.

Our cuisine features a contemporary concept, influenced by the classic European cuisine, Asia and Latin America, from an eloquent and modern perspective. Our steaks are locally produced, with very high farming standards; and our seafood and fish dishes are amongst the preferred by our guests, for whom our menu also offers many vegetarian options, made with ingredients which, in most cases, are harvested in our own farm, pesticide-free.
There was no room inside the restaurant (did not pre book) so we were offered a bar stool (with backrest) at the front outside the restaurant facing inside. They were great and could watch the staff busy at work. It was also cooler being outside. The food was terrific. Very tasty and excellent quality and quantity. The staff were helpful and friendly.

I had the buffet ordered vegetarian casado which is a typical dish from Costa Rica. Service is friendly and nice but the food was basic basic, nothing special. Flavor was missing in my opinion. Overall its ok, cheap food but you get what you pay for.

We offer Italian, local Costa Rican and International cuisine. Located right infront of the Arenal Volcano.
A group of 55 can be a bit daunting but the staff at Que Rico handled us like true professionals. They provided a quite tasty selection of items including the most delicious little Zuchini segments roasted with cheese inside. Salad, chicken, so much to recall all of it but it was nice to see many of our group return for seconds. Lunch was followed by a nice bowl of vanilla ice cream for dessert. In, out, filled and very happy, we trundled off to our next destination. Great place to eat. Very friendly and efficient staff.

We are a sushi bar, our goal is that locals and tourists have the opportunity to eat the best sushi fusion with a reasonable price and at the same time with the best quality and freshness of Costa Rica
We went here for a dinner at around 6.15pm. If coming at that time you can maybe get away without a reservation. If you plan to come after 7pm it's worth reserving as many people were being turned away.
When we ordered our food came pretty quickly and was good in general (though shrimp gyozas didn't taste of much- wouldn't bother with those if going back). We liked it so much we ordered more but this took quite a bit longer to come because the place was so full.
Service very friendly.

We had breakfast and seafood grill dinner here. Both were great. The seafood grill has an extensive selection of fresh fish and there are many other interesting items on the buffet including lobster bisque (very nicely done), charcuterie selections, fresh, small oysters and delicious cold shrimp (beware - no traditional US-style cocktail sauce though, only the high-test spicy stuff). Desert was delicious and all the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Very worth it. We will probably go back for the meat grill night!

Come visit for true coffee knowledge and outstanding coffee quality. This is the location where we sell the coffee that we Grow, Mill & Roast in our Dota/Tarrazu plantation. Our coffee shop/store is in a new location, surrounded by a coffee plantation. Come have a cup of coffee, take coffee home or take our Coffee Tour. You will love our new setting. We have tables and rocking chairs right by our coffee plantation.
The owners greeted us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Very nice and helpful to explain the coffee they had and their organic operations used to make their coffee. Highly recommend trying the dark chocolate covered coffee beans. Great treat.

The best Gallo Pinto in town! Local heartwarming, delicious food with a genuine customer service. Try the best breakfasts, amazing casados and the best Costa Rican typical food. Alvaro and family will welcome you like in their home.
We found this place from a recommendation of one of our taxi drivers. It is a bit hidden away, behind the Motorcycle shop. But what a find. The food was so reasonable in cost and very traditional. Portions were large and food prepared perfectly. The service was fast and so polite. even with my very broken Spanish, they were able to decipher and give suggestions for us to try. If we had been in town longer I know this place would have bee a repeat visit. I highly recommend if you want to try local food and see what a typical "soda" has to offer. you won;t be disappointed! And prices are very reasonable-- even thought my husband ordered a steak for dinner, the meal for both of us was under $14. Don't miss out- Try Soda Mima

We are a handmade chocolate maker, we prepare our chocolates using our raw material that we produce in our factory from the seed to the bar, with organic cocoa from the area and with our secret ingredient that is love.
We love chocolate and Costa Rica has some of the best in the world. This Chocolateria is located right in the centre of town across from the park in front of the church. The staff was really friendly and helpful - there was so much to choose from.
They have freshly ground coffee and a good selection of ice cream, but we were there for the chocolate. We decided to pick up a selection of loose chocolate, we tried the coconut, red wine, peanut butter & salted caramel - it was so delicious!
Highly Recommended and a must to visit if you are in La Fortuna!
