This restaurant is located in a historic building constructed in 1295. Parts of the original ceiling remain in place. For example, the restaurant's wood ceiling hasn't changed since 1295.
Stories aside... The 28 year old chef is amazing. Food is slow, but that's because he takes his time to do a great job. It's worth the wait.
Service is also slow, but the truth is that the waiters are really nice people.
The sicilian manager is a nice person as well and will guide you toward what you are really looking for.
Last but not least, the view is beautiful and the tables are wide and spaced from each other, a rarity in the center of zurich.
Highly recommended.

We had the greatest time at Rico's! We chose the 7 course meal and in reality there were about 12 courses! The food was amazing and the service impeccable! A must visit if visiting Zurich! I wish I could give it more stars!!!

The Pavillon, Baur au Lac's recently refurbished restaurant, features fresh and modern cuisine within an environment that effortlessly fuses contemporary and classic style. Head Chef Laurent Eperon creates an artful combination of traditional ingredients and flavors with creative and innovative preparations, and he, along with the Pavillon, was recently awarded his first Michelin star. Chef Eperon and the Pavillon also hold 17 GaultMillau points. The Pavillon is open year-round Monday through Friday and on Saturday evenings, and can accommodate up to 64 guests.
We came w another couple for an anniversary dinner. The dining area was lovely and the service was good. The tasting menu was quite excellent, worthy of its high Zurich price. However the dessert was a bit off, not that creative for a one Michelin star restaurant and a bit too sweet. A la cart prices are outrageously high, a simple small portion main dish would cost you on average 100 CHF. It is a very good one by Zurich standard.

The restaurant in a quiet location with sun Terrace and view of the Lake of Zurich
Let's jump to the main event: the food here was outstanding. Service was quite good and the hostess and server both provided great help in making choices. Everything they suggested was excellent. Great view, great food.
This is an expensive place. As I was staying in the hotel and didn't want to go back out after a long day, I decided to just go for it but in general, you might call this a "special occasion" place.
That said, I appreciate that the staff found me a place though I had no reservation (and it was a busy night with several groups) and the wait staff was attentive without making it seem they were pushing me out.
My biggest regret is that I didn't have room for desert, which looked excellent.

Went for lunch with my wife on a Thursday. The restaurant was reasonably busy and relatively loud. Good thing about that is, that you can have a conversation without constantly feeling like being heard by the whole restaurant.
Menue consists of classical dishes that are cooked to perfection. Needless to say everything comes at relatively high prices, but absolutely in line with price level in Zurich, thus not being overpriced at all.
Service is very attentive and cleary ranks among the best in town.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner with friends in this newly-opened place right at the water. Parking was easy towards the nearby train station.
The historic building has been tastefully renovated and the layout of the different rooms makes dining a pleasant experience. In particular, there is ample space between tables which gives each table nice privacy.
An old wooden bar in a separate rooms allows for a starter cocktail or a nightcap.
A sous-chef had made hand-made pasta that were served with white-truffles - together with a good bottle of Spanish wine (Mauro) the meal was simply delicious.
We will return to Steinburg!

Sihlhalde is located in the beautiful countryside of Gattikon. The restaurant itself is romantic and rural with a small farm which belongs to the restaurant. The service is attentive and competent. We all went for the tasting menu. The homemade Brasato ravioli were definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Also the seabass was excellent. They have a nice selection of strong goat and sheep cheeses which I found amazing.

At the Romantik Seehotel Sonne in Küsnacht, the choice is yours. If you'd like to dine in a gourmet restaurant, we suggest you try our famous Sonnengalerie - with an "al fresco" option in summer. But if you're after something more down-to-earth, you'll find Swiss specialities and modern international dishes in our cosy and historic dining rooms. Our beer garden is right next to Lake Zurich. Enjoy the wonderful shade under our big trees and simple, delicious self-service dishes in summer. When evening comes, end the day in style with a select drink in our elegant tower bar. The Sonne is a little piece of Küsnacht - we wish you a warm welcome!
This is the first time we have dined at the main restaurant in quite a while. The Sonnengalerie restaurant is part of the hotel infrastructure but not completely on the lakeside but affords lovely views of the lake. The service from the team were very...MoreWe thank you for your report and are sorry, that we did not satisfied you . The yellow Thai Gazpacho was one of the most popular dishes this summer. Looking forward to welcoming you back to the Gaststuben.

I've booked this venue many a time for my executives but actually had the chance to go there myself last night and I now know why it receives such rave reviews from my bosses.
The setting is second to none: it's perched right on the lake with a large Terrace extending into the lake. The views of the lake and surrounding Mountains are mesmerising!
The menu is varied (if a little difficult to read as in a handwritten scrawl) and the portion sizes among the largest I've come across in Zurich. The food itself was outstanding and beautifully plated.
The staff was attentive and friendly.
Chez Fritz now ranks as one of my top picks in Zurich.

The food was lovely here but a few gripes prevented me from rating it higher than 3/5. The main thing is that the food is very expensive for what you get, even by Swiss standards; 43 chf for a fish dish and 33 chf for polenta with mushrooms. The decor is also quite dated, although the panelling in the main room is lovely. The service was a little slow considering the restaurant wasn't very busy, although it was very friendly. Our final gripe was the stuck-up family on the next table, who gave us dirty looks for not eating in silence, but that's not the restaurant's fault obviously. In summary, a pleasant meal but the Steinburg, which is very close by, offers a lake view and better food for about the same price.
