Kumasi (historically spelled Comassie or Coomassie and usually spelled Kumase in Twi) is a city in Ashanti Region, and is among the largest metropolitan areas in Ghana. Kumasi is near Lake Bosomtwe, in a rain forest region, and is the commercial, industrial and cultural capital of Asanteman. Kumasi is approximately 500 kilometres (300 mi) north of the Equator and 200 kilometres (100 mi) north of the Gulf of Guinea. Kumasi is alternatively known as "The Garden City" because of its many beautiful species of flowers and plants. It is also called Oseikrom (Osei Tutu's town). Kumasi is described as Ghana’s second city.

If you are at the Cultural Center around lunch time, you would eat here only because it is a convenient spot. Otherwise I'd skip this place. The food was okay, but it took more than an hour for everything to arrive for our party of 6. One dish came within 10 minutes, the next dishes came about 30 minutes after that, and the final dishes 30 minutes after that. Had only one server who disappeared for long stretches of time. Not a particularly interesting ambience either.

restaurant at Sir Max Hotel in Kumasi, Ghana
Slightly Overpriced, but decent Lebanese and European cuisine. The pool is nice although not very clean. Service is slow, like most places in Ghana, but wifi is working g well and smoothies are really good! A rather posh place, but worth if you're looking for a European escape in Kumasi. Popular with obronis.

Vic baboos cafe, the home of good taste was established over 20 years and has grown in popularity with expats, tourist and the local crowd. We are a cozy cafe located in the center of town in Kumasi and we focus on providing the highest quality meals at affordable prices. We Serve Indian, Chinese, Continental, Fast food and Ghanaian cuisines and a wide variety of smoothies, milkshakes, lassi's, cocktails and mocktails.
The staff was very friendly, the food was good for the price and the place was cozy. They tended to turn up the music a little too loud suring the afternoon on this particular Sunday, with loudspeakers screetching and people trying to talk over them - all in all the place gave us a headache pretty quickly, so eventually we left (luckily after we finished our food) :)

I spent a little over 2 weeks in Kumasi recently on a business trip. It was my first visit to Ghana, so I had some worries about how I would do with the food. A few of my travel companions had been to Kumasi before, and they took me to Hans Court. This place is great. The service is very good. Everybody is very friendly and the manager even came out and chatted with us for a while. Everything we ordered was very yummy. The portions were great. It was one of the best meals I had while in Ghana. If I return to Kumasi, I will be back to eat at Hans Court.

We stayed in Kumasi for two nights as part of a travel program to Ghana, Togo, and Benin. From the outside, the hotel seemed quite plain and uninviting. However, the hotel itself did not disappoint. The rooms were spacious and clean with updated bathrooms, and efficient air-conditioning. The hotel does not have elevators; the first floor rooms are located about 20 + steps up from the ground floor. The main restaurant was the real prize with delicious Chinese and Indian cuisine. One night the chef prepared a mixed Indian and Chinese meal that was voted as the best dinner of the 19 day trip to West Africa. The supervisor was a gentleman by the name of A.B. He was responsive to our needs and always accommodated our requests quickly and efficiently. I would return to this hotel again.

Not the most scenic of views I have to say, but still worth visiting - the restaurant is set roughly on about the third floor so you can see quite a way. However what makes this place is the food! I think that was probably the best burger I have had, certainly for a very long time. It take a a while, like a lot of things in Ghana, but so very worth it!

Appreciated the fact that there is a pizza place in Kumasi, they also serve other food like burgers and Lebanese.
The milkshakes are good (recommend the chocolate) we ordered a pepperoni and an all season pizza. They were a bit too oily, but the taste was fine and I was just happy to have some pizza. Staff were good and the food didn't take long to get served.
I noticed that a lot of the options were not available though due to a lack of food products which limits your choices on what you can order.

Italian restaurant and ice cream shop situated in Kumasi where you can drink and eat italian dishes and wines, watch TV or chat with your friends thanks to free wifi. The best location for families or to celebrate your parties because of the friendly atmosphere and the awesome park that surrounds the structure. Everyday, in the icecream shop is it possible to find from 12 to 18 different flavors.
