A fab restaurant on Pori beach. Delicious, different Greek food in a relaxed, chilled atmosphere. Definitely on the pricey side but probably worth it if you are a foodie! Highly recommended!

Mixalios GRILL HOUSE is a family-owned restaurant that was established in 1999 and offers a wide range of dishes with ingredients that are all locally sourced, either from our own farms in Koufonisia, but also Keros and Naxos. Mixalios, our grandfather, grew up in the neighboring island of Kato Koufonisi, where he still has his farm of goats and sheep. Every day, all through the year, at 5 am, Mixalios takes his boat and goes to Kato Koufonisi to take care of the animals and comes back by sunset. But the family also has goats on the uninhabited island of Keros, where they graze freely. Only one fresh-water well exists on the island, by the shore, and all animals descend every day from the Mountains to drink from there. Between May and June, Mixalios and his son, Giannis Prasinos, visit the island early in the morning, place a large flat stone on the well’s opening blocking access to the water, and this allows them to easily capture animals waiting to get a drink! Giannis, the owner of the GRILL HOUSE, also has small farms at Ano Koufonisi, where he feeds his cows, free-range roosters, and pigs. All the animals are fed grain that is grown by Giannis himself on his lands both at Ano and Kato Koufonisi. Anna, our grandmother, makes three types of local cheese, prepared from our own cow and goat milk on a wood fire, using a traditional recipe. We serve xinomizithra, a soft, white, sour cheese, which is light in fat; ladotiri, which is a sharp, hard cheese, aged in oil; and feta. Yiayia Anna, also makes rakomelo, a sweet liqueur with raki, cinnamon and a mixture of honey and sugar. Maria, Gianni’s wife, makes “halva” pastry, which is made with semolina, cinnamon, and syrup. It is topped with her specialty, a “spoon sweet” made with fresh carrots. Enjoy your meal!
We went twice to Mixalios!
We loved this place for the food quality and origin.
Everything is produced by the family farms and this combined with the cooking experience makes Mixalios food and wine excellent.
We have tasted great lamb chops, pork, veal in the oven (lovely taste of herbs and vegetables cooked together)and a salad (greens) so fresh and genuine!
:)))))

We stayed at Anna's Villas, and ate in 5 or 6 restaurants in Koufonissi, including several reviewed in Trip Advisor, but this was best for food and service.
Came twice for dinner during our stay. Unfortunately, my cousin was not well to take on the suggestions of ordering a lobster spaghetti. First night I ordered shrimp spaghetti instead. It was delicious but I spent more time cleaning the shrimps than enjoying my meal. That's how you know it's fresh though. Full of flavor. Second night I went back because it was my birthday and was anticipating on ordering a reasonable size fish for dinner. I guess I came too late in the night because there were only small fishes available, individual portions. I ordered two and asked them to fillet it. It was good but too many bones. I'm assuming if you are looking for fresh fish get there early enough to claim your fish.

Called in on the off chance and got a table, which another potential party did not. Good service, prompt when needed, good fish dishes and nice local wine. Another restaurant we'd go back to.

Went to this restaurant during our visit to Koufunissi. Decided to go to this charming restaurant for lunch and ordered Zucchini Balls, fried calamari, stuffed aubergine and a Greek salad. The for was good but the service very slow. Had to wait for more than 20 minutes to get the menu and in the end had to get up and ask some of the waiters for it. Afterwards we ordered a few dishes but they forgot to bring one. After had to wait another 30 minutes to pay.

This is actually my third time in this beautiful idyllic island, and also the third time I'm having dinner at Captain Nikolas Taverna. Service as always is friendly and warm. Everything we had was amazingly fresh and freshly caught, and also excellently prepared. They have really tasty and fresh red mullet! The tomato balls we had were also really special and delicious! Also definitely try the prawn or lobster pasta. It was one of the best meals on our trip. I can certainly see why one would come to Koufonisia just for a dinner here :)

We walked here from The other side of town after Reading good reviews on tripadvisor.
The view/location; a little port with boats, a small beach with some tables And chairs set out for dining was breathtaking. Well worth an evening stroll To see The sunset.
The waiter started off friendly, keen To tell us about The delicious specials on offer, especially The soup. We looked forward To our dinner. Unfortunately when it arrived it was cold, And didn't taste great. None of us could finish our dishes; The squid was dry And tough.
The fish soup was more like potato soup with cold fish And cold lumpy mash potatoes on a separate plate To be added To The potato soup.
The mussels were bitter And bread old.
Our Greek salad was as expected And The Feta was good.
By The time it got busy-ish around 7pm The waiters seemed overwhelmed And it took ages for our bill.
Sorry To write such a bad review, but Maybe this will help improve service And meals as The location is so wonderful.

Definitely one of the most authentic and best meals i had in Greece. We had fresh fish and the mousaka was delicious. Magda was a great host and advised us very well. Highly recommended if visiting Koufonissi

Kalamia is an all day and all night music cafe, that you can have breakfast, snacks, cakes, beverages, ice-cream, juices, drinks and cocktails. It is the first cafe in the island, in a traditional decoration. Free WiFi and all cards accepted.
A typical cafe - bar - restaurant. The quality of everything we ordered was OK. However, the prices were a bit expensive, especially given the OK-but-not-excellent quality, the poor service (too slow) and the location (the surrounding area looks like a dump --- far away you can see the sea, but it is too late to make you forget what's around you). An additional layer of shades (on the top) would have provided much better protection from the sun. Smoking was allowed, but this is more or less a typical law violation in Greece --- still, very irritating.
