A good multicuisine restaurant in Coonoor
In the first place there are not much good restaurants in Coonoor that is decent and suits the pocket. That way this place fits the bill. It is also located in the busy Bedford area and is easily accessible. Located in the first floor of a small complex, the ambience is good and the food is also good. But one cannot expect the services that you get either in Ooty or other cities. The restaurant just meets the purpose. And Sunday seems to be off which is quite odd for a restaurant!

Location - Fantastic
Ambiance - Old-Colonial charm
Upkeep - Decent. Could be better
Menu - Limited, classy, exclusive
Food - Fine, as in OK, OK. Nothing to really write home about.
Possibly the only place to get some continental fare.
Exorbitant!
Service - not very quick.
What to eat? Tried their Fettuccine with Garlic Chicken. Bland for the Indian palette.
The sautéed fish platter was nice.
They do not open for Dinner.

i booked this hotel as a convenient place away from Ootty towards Kotagiri on 9th October 2016. started my journey after informed them through phone from calicut, 200 km away from hotel. Strangely, after reached there, the so called front office manager, denied the room also behaved arrogantly as if I done some mistake. I visited Ootty many times, stayed many hotels and also extended the journey to Kotagiri as a nice location, this experience was so strange and painful. in the odd hours, during the peak days of vacation, his attitude towards a traveler was so strange, spoiled the mood. Lucky, got another room through the agent in a professional manner, still the bad experience warranted my to write the review.

Very crowded, we (and a lot of other people) had to wait next to a table where people were still eating. Kind of awkward, but seemed like this was the way to go. The food though was very good! We wanted to eat very spicy in India, which was harder to get as we thought, but here they serve the real Indian food with lots of spicier dishes.

We visited the resort in October 2016 and must say we had quite the experience !
Not expecting much but just while away time, we were in for quite a treat - a wonderful resort, and don't have to go all the way to Coonoor, exquisite and spacious rooms, great ambience, really courteous staff, excellent restaurant with a majestic spread with ample choices for whatever pallete you prefer, excellent service and the best part - loads of activities that range from rope climbing, forest hikes, magic shows, nature walks and much more !
Nestled admist the Nilgiris promises a beautiful ambience, surrounded by nature and animals - an absolute must do !

Ok I can say ultra peaceful location. Its in the midst of heavens almost. Its a home stay with Very good service. Tho the negative is that all rooms dont have a view. so ask for the specific one. The breakfast is very tasty and all kinds of tea available. Food is good. The common lobby has board games. Mainly plenty of walks around and away from the city.

The Culinarium is a Pastry, Breads and Dining restaurant situated in Ketti, in The Nilgiris, it is located almost exactly between the towns of Coonoor and Ooty. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful Ketti valley and is surrounded by scenic terraced fields and is located conveniently just off the main road and has adequate parking facilities. The management is proud to say that the restaurant is fully equipped for wheelchair access. The Culinarium has just opened in May and is already a much talked of and admired restaurant for its exquisite architecture, scrumptious food and best in class service. The Dining cuisine is European, varied in its flavours and encompasses such country side classics as Pot Pies and Bangers & Mash, alongside stylish classics such as Hungarian Goulash and Fish Baked in White Wine. Our wide selection of Breads is made with care from scratch, no ready mixes are used or artificial flavours or preservatives. The range of breads includes multi grains, whole wheat flour breads, Focaccias and French staples such as Butter and Almond Croissants, Ficelles, to name a few. The Culinarium Pastry range has already garnered a following from Nilgiri residents and beyond. Our selection includes Mille Feuilles, Eclairs, Operas, Baba Au Rhums, Paris Brests and a variety of cakes and flans. The pastries all have unique flavours and are made from original recipes with authentic ingredients.
Do not miss it !! The food is awesome with great pasta, roasts, a combination of continental Mediterranean food. Their dessert section never lets you down and my personal favourite is the Chocolate Eclair. Only low point being less options for the vegetarian. Service is quick. Take some to prepare the order but that is understood with the quality and taste of dishes. Slightly upmarket feel. Parking is available. On the Ooty -Conoor Road.

For all the food lovers, this is a place one should definitely park. Its not always about yummiest food but what keeps me glued to this particular restaurant is the staff. They are always welcoming, friendly and willing to go an extra mile for achieving customer satisfaction. Authentic Chinese Delights. OMG!!! how can I miss specifying about one of their signature dish "Crackling Spinach"... its out of the world. Understood from them that the spinach which they use for the dish is home grown. Absolutely organic. So are their other products, we are impressed by their quality. Must go place in Kotagiri:)

Simple place..has been the same from 1997 for my "business lunches".. whenever I visit fields in Kotagiri, The Nilgiris, TN. Veg or Non veg, the basic meal remains the same (rice, one veg, papad, rasam and buttermilk) and famous only for lunch. The side dishes are chicken (dry or gravy style), fish (Ayila in full or seer rounds in dry or gravy)..better preferred by Non-Veg foodies..no frills and very simple, clean food..run by 3 brothers and homely food...my 20th year with them for lunches...

The restaurant is situated close to the Coonoor railway station and on highway. The quality and taste of food here are good. But due to poor service quality it is frequently being served in unhygienic condition, without proper cutleries, additives or even just worm or cold. The charm of their well cooked biriyani, kebabs or breads loose their identity due to less number of inefficient staff to handle full house gathering. Even on repeated requests they hardly bother to rectify. Otherwise the quantity and quality of biriyani, tandoors and kebabs are commendable.
