A unique style of the restaurant will bring you not only enrichment by new pleasure and tastes during your visit, but also will provide you with an unforgettable gourmet experience, full of exceptionality. The wine list perfectly prepared by a sommelier will fulfill your secret desires. In summer you will appreciate a pleasant sitting on the summer Terrace.
Situated just off Kosice's Main Street/square, this restaurant offers traditional Slovakian food cooked to the highest standards. The service is excellent and every surface and implement is cleaned to within a nanometre of its life.

Love the ambience and atmosphere in this restaurant. The table lighting is also unique, go see for yourself rather than me trying to explain it! I tried the sirloin steak here and asked for it to be cooked "well-done", I personally hate to see blood on my food. Sadly, after a couple of slices, it was apparent the steak was cooked to medium-rare. I pulled the waiter over who took it away and re-cooked it. To be fair it still wasn't quite right but I was hungry so I ate it anyway.

The Camelot Castle emblazoned with legends became an example for opening restaurant with a unique "castle-like" atmosphere. Comfortable padded benches, huge tables hidden from ruch of city, unusually pleasant service of the castle ladies, meals having a pleasant smell and served on original clay plates. Excellent offer slovak best wines, unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell on the tap, flavorous steaks, home made sausages and othes regional products, plates for more persons, original tartar steaks!
Arrived hoping to get an early beer and snack in the bar. Disappointed to find the bar full of smokers. This is allowed by Slovak law but pretty grim by my standards. Loud pseudo punk playing.
Went downstairs to the labyrinthine restaurant. Greeted by a very nice young lady & seated.
As this place has been lauded for its beer thought I would explore. They serve a very nice lager........ & that's it. Not what I expect from a celebrated beer hall.
As for the food, my partner wanted steak tartare which has been recommended by others. Meat quality was excellent but the accompaniments which should make the dish were poor. We had to find the waitress to ask for some hot sauce which they didn't have. Eventually got a bit of chopped raw chili which then appeared on the bill for .60c. Cheeky.
Other food we saw coming out looked ok. But I all honesty I can't recommend this place.

Although I'd finished a calorie-busting 9-day backpacking trip in the Mountains a few days before, I'd had a few mediocre meals in town since then, and wasn't that hungry this evening, so I know my judgment wasn't impaired. I was skeptical of sweet corn on the vegetariana pizza (and a number of the other pizzas) but it worked just fine and did not dominate. The salad (the "summer salad") was out of this world, drenched in a rich, sweet balsamico type dressing with abundant avocado, walnuts and raisins. A Slovakian red wine (Frankovka modrá) pulled it all together. I went back and forth between the pizza and salad and wine, wishing the experience would not end. (And I'm not usually weird about food like this, especially when dining alone.)

Typical Slovak restaurant/beer bar. Simple but very friendly and with climate. Fast and good service. Food very tasty and the portions huge. Although we were very hungry, we were not able to eat whole portions and we asked to pack them for take away. We ate goulash soup and pork in cream sauce with dumplings. At the exit stood a basket of apples to taste. Nice :) We recommend this place

First impressions were that it was very dark but staff welcoming and furniture and fittings very rustic. Large tables with benches add to the atmosphere, overlooks Main Street adds to the viewing. (If you get a window seat!)
Ordered the home made duck pate starter with toast and chutney which was excellent. Followed by the pork in black beer 750grams for the two of us. The meat fell off the bone and was plenty for the two of us. As with most restaurants here the prices are brilliant for the portions and quality of the food.
We are back in October and will definitely return.
Can be a little difficult to find so don't give up, it is at the end of the courtyard on the left.

Republika Vychodu is a very unique restaurant. It is located in the city centre on the main street /Hlavna ulica/ just on the right side next to the Cathedral. Open every day. It is possible to sit also outside in the summer so it gives you beautiful view of the Main Street and you can feel the vibes of the city :)
The unique thing about this restaurant is that the menu and whole concept of it is in the "eastern dialect"/style, that is special and quite funny. For foreigners, you do not understand that, but it is very nice there, good food, good cakes, nice staff and lovely atmosphere. Prices are little bit higher /for us locals/ but its totally worth it.
ENJOY:)

Interior is the same, quality of dishes is the same, quality of service is the...MoreDear Milan, many thanks for your review. Its so pleasant to read something like this. Food was tasty but the service has been lacking attention. Even after more than half an hour we dont get attention from waiter in almost empty restaurant. Restaurant is in very nice cellar.
