Restaurant Krapihovi both cherishes and creates new Finnish culinary tradition in an idyllic villa setting. The pearl grey and green main building was built in 1883 as the Krapi estate main building and as summer residence for the Councillor of State Sourander. The seasonal cycle and fresh Finnish ingredients from field, water and forest form the basis of the Krapihovi kitchen. Krapi has its own curehouse, a buthery and a bakery on premises. Everything on your plate is made with care in the Krapi kitchen. Krapihovi dining room is set with seasonal Finnish delicacies; a delicious culinary story of Finland. The three settings of breakfast, lunch and dinner are the focal point of Krapi culinary world.

Restaurant has two sides but they both serve the same meny. You can choose any free table. Pizzas are large and so are also other portions. The salad table is not good.

Rosso is an Italian-styled chain of Finnish restaurants and it's not very Italian. It's also evidence that Finland still has a long way to go when it comes to good quality, reasonably accurate chain restaurants, but in Kerava, a bedroom community about 30 minutes north of Helsinki, it's one of the only games in town. It's pretty lame. The ambience, to start with, isn't much; it's tucked into a corner of the Prisma hypermarket and while it has four walls around it, the glaring, blaring light of a supermarket isn't terribly atmospheric.
It's got a full bar. That's a good thing.
The food's pretty terrible. Watery pasta bolognese (you can do better yourself, at home). A mediocre salad buffet that doesn't look all that tidy.
It's not expensive, or terribly so, so it's popular with families. I'd rather eat at home, frankly.

Restaurant is located in an old Officer's Mess built by the Russians sometimes in the early 20th century. However, little of the old remains indoors, since the restaurant has been renovated to quite a modern look.
Their steaks are great for a dinner. For lunch they have a buffet, and that is very good, as well, with a wide selection of Finnish food.

Lunch buffet was awesome some months ago, but nowadays the quality of sushi buffet is not that excellent anymore. Sushi tasted like it have been cooked in advance, not just in time to fill the buffet table.
Fish tastes fresh, as well as all other ingredients, but somehow there was a "pre made" feeling while eating.
Still, price is not bad and quality is OK for buffet.

We went with our family to Mankeli for a lunch during our summer holiday.
The milieu of Tuusulanjärvi and Krapi is one of a kind. The restaurant is quite new and the Scandinavian wooden plain interior is beautiful.
Overall the food was good but nothing that special. The salad and soup buffet was the better part of the deal. The home made tomato soup was excellent and the four different salads were quite good (a bit too much mayo to our liking). The wasabi salmon was small sized and had no wasabi to taste, although it was not bad at all. The real let down was the feta zucchini vegetable patty which was really dry and tasteless. Coffee and dessert were fine.
The service was kind but way too slow. We waited for the main course for 20 minutes even though the lunchroom was quite empty. When we arrived the salads were nearly ran out and they only refilled those after 15 minutes. They also should fix their washing machine since most of the plates and cutlery were too dirty.
The biggest problem of the lunch is with out a question the price tag of 16 euros (8 euros per child). With that price you expect a great lunch experience and great food. I really liked the place and the setting but I cannot honestly recommend Mankeli lunch since its just too low value for the money.

Ravintola Huvila offer lunch on weekdays as well as A 'la Cartea daily after lunch. In the summer, the villa's Terrace serves fresh drinks, good wines and beers in addition to food. Welcome to enjoy!
Good service. A nice old building with exposed beams inside, the old pharmacy from used-to-be-Finland once town of Terijoki. Quite a positive impression from the outset.
Meals are well-made with traditional recipes, wit some new twist. Cross kitchen with Italian background or something like that. Yes: 4/5 points well deserved. Starters: Salmon "chevice" quotes in the menu of sugar-salt cured salmon with garnishes, of which the crawfis mayo got the youth department to wrinkle brows, but the old Foodiac liked, the second starter: a self-assembled course: fresh sausage with onion mayo, which was like a mild fine potato salad, a very successful side dish to the sausage. Within the Aranchini some lamb mince, a new acquaintance combo to me. The villa's burger was good, if not miraculous, a little awkward to eat due to it´s high composition, the "spike" was missing. Ramen soup was very good, the broth could be brighter (and some more appetizing than the present brown broth) some kind of extra depth to the flawor it use too. Beatifull coursese as a whole all still.
Desserts :dacquise buttercream, pastry, sweet, sweet. And the orthodox full flawoured creme brule.
The second visit in consideration, its, nice to find a place like this outside Helsinki.

A cozy pub-like diner in the heart of Kerava city. We serve mainly chicken prepared in our special way, but also fish, pastas and snacks. In summertime we have the largest and sunniest Terrace of the city.
Ravintola Onnellinenen Kana -- which translates to "Happy Chicken" in Finnish, is a neighborhood place that is my favorite (admittedly offerings in Kerava, a bedroom community for Helsinki) don't amount to much. But I love it here. As fits the name, the menu specializes in chicken dishes, whether it's starters like wings and nuggets to more elaborate stews and casseroles and even a chicken burger.
My go-to is a basket of the most delicious chicken nuggets I've tasted in any country, with hot and fresh fries, well salted, along with dipping in a curry mayo sauce.
In the summer, there are plenty of outdoor tables on Kerava's main pedestrian mall. Great people-watching (though hate the prevalent smoking). In winter, the interior is cozy and country-style.
On this most recent visit there's evidence that the owners continue to invest in the restaurant (this time, fully rebuilt bathrooms, always a good sign). It was full at about 3 p.m. for lunch, so that says something (it's open straight through from lunch - dinner). Beer and wine are available, not sure about cocktails. Great place for families, couples, solos....
Someone on staff always is fluent in English (not everyone, but I've never been there and had a hard time communicating); there's an English language menu you can ask for.

We went here with friends, two families with kids. We heard the place had opened recently and wanted to give it a try. I have always liked Nepalese cuisine and this restaurant did not let me down. Very tasty food, big portions and reasonable prices. And the naan bread was superb, we just had to order more of those!
