The food and service is excellent, but it is rather expensive.

Restaurant Strandkanten is located at the Promenade at Lake Mockeln, ca. 6 Min. Walk from the center. The restaurant serves lunch and a la carte afternoons & evenings.
We were 10 guys on a trip to Karlskoga, and we found this nice pearl down by the waterfront - two old, beautiful wooden houses with a large markee with wooden tables. We asked our waiter for white table cloths and some flowers, and he immediately responded. We had great food at a reasonable price, and the rosèwine was on sale that evening - we were all very happy and will certainly return next year!

Local restauranteur Sandra Sanebo has just opened the Gastro Bar and Kok in the Main Square in September 2011. We tried it and can confirm it is really good high quality gastro food - I assume a website will follow. Sandra already has the Golf Restaurant in Karlskoga - only other place of similar dining quality is the Bofors Hotel. Average cost per person is $60 for 3 courses exc drinks.
Had the Swedish traditional Christmas Dinner - Julbord - which was excellent. Although good job I had a Swedish colleague with me to explain all the dishes.

We ate at the The Red Brick during our stay in Karlskoga and we couldn't wait to keep going back.
Lovely English food and steaks with a great atmosphere. Was brilliant and everyone there was friendly!
Great beer and whiskey selection.
If I go back to Karlskoga the Red Brick will be first on the list! couldn't ask for more!

Härlig uteservering med gott om plats. Finns både varm och kall mat samt mycket bakverk av olika slag. Lokalen är inredd med gammeldagsmöbler. Mysigt om man vill sitta inne.

This is a great place in Karlskoga in the middle of the city at the market, place to meet friends and have a good yarn or just to enjoy a coffee and cake for yourself. They also serve breakfast and lunch. You can sit inside if the weather is bad. Or you can sit just outside the coffee shop. Or you can sit outside on the other side of the pedestrian walkway with large umbrellas protecting you from the sun. Was there the other day with my wife for the first time and had a delicious mud cake with cream and chocolate sauce. Nice and friendly staff that also speaks English.

Artisan pub with freshly ground burgers, daily baked bread, pub stuffed sausages, smoked bacon and more.
Nasty waitress taking payments, paid £80 , Nd she couldn't even come to our table, without being nasty, telling us we need to go to the bar...We didn't..She had to come. The food, beef, baked potato and bearnesas, the beef is ok, but the bearnesas is to salty and Maxi the store sell better. All and all I'm never going there having food.....

This place is situated between Karlskoga and Örebro (closer to Karlskoga) near the lake Våtsjön. You can sit outdoor, if the weather is good , and you are really close to the water. Indoor there is an area with glassdoors, where you can look out on the lake. Very nice! Big parkering area for your car.
We had Saturday lunch buffé with two dishes, fish and chicken, salad different kinds, herring, potatoes, breda, coffe and dessert included in the price.
All of this was very tasty and well prepared by the chef. Nice and helpful personel.
You can drop in or you can reserve a table.
I really recomend this restaurant, well worth a stop.
