They set the bar low and tried to imitate (steal) McDonald's level of food and service. They succeeded, sad to say. The food is a close approximation of McD's. "Chicken Chips" are indistinguishable from Chicken McNuggets. The one I went to was inside the City Mall in Karaganda, which made it convenient for me since I often shopped at the RamStore, but I still generally avoided the place. I suppose US expats nostalgic for the Golden Arches will like it.

Here was an assortment of choice, with a mix from a sushi bar, hot and cold meals. The assortment is awesome. The fruit juices mixes are mouth-watering. There is everything from children's meals to the refined tastes. They are a child- friendly restaurant.

The atmosphere and food are quite good. The waitress spoke English and it is one of the few places you can get ice with a drink. I have eaten here on a couple trips to Karaganda and it has always been good. Their soups are particularly tasty and the salads are fresh. Consistently one of the better restaurants in Kazakhstan. This is a chain and I have eaten at one in Astana that was good as well.

CoffeIn is a cool eating place, serving not only coffee, but a wide variety of delicious meals. It caters also for a wide range of ages. Friendly staff and a warm, cosy atmosphere punctuate visits here. Their bright colours help brighten the spirits.
Their desserts of buns filled with milk curds, or filled with chocolate are irresistible once you taste them.

It's a nice place. The hall is spacious and we'll decorated. Home brewed beer is delicious. They also run deals: buy one liter of beer and get the second one free. Food is okay. Nothing extraordinary.

Karganda seems to be a place 'in the middle of nowhere". Not far away from city Stalin decided to built up many years ago a camp named 'Karlag' , where a lot of people from different countries have been deported.
The city has this strange mixture of inhabitants of different nations (Kazakhs, Russians, Germans, Pols, Bulgarians, Romanians, Tatars) and you can read the history of the place on the people's faces.
If you stroll on the streets you can discover the layers of nine decades of existence. It is such a strange mixture of architecture as well.
In front of the old factories, gray colored, degraded and almost destroyed you can see a lot of new buildings contrasting to the old ones.
In the center you are surprised by the socialistic buildings and very modern ones staying together on the both parts of the main streets.
Somewhere, not so far from the center, just across the building of Regional Parliament you can discover discover Johnee Walker Pub.
The restaurant is very modern outside and inside. A couple of tables for six are arranged near the windows, the staff is really kind, just welcoming you and offering a good salty, smoked cheese, a large offer of beer and delicious dishes.
No matter if you want a a lunch or a dinner. Johnee Walker (despite of misspelling) has always good food, good drinks and a really enjoyable atmosphere.

бар от ресторана Медведь. У входа знаменитый памятник фразе "Где-где - в Караганде". Уютные диванчики и интерьер в целом. Барное меню. Хорошее место как для деловой встречи днем, так для посиделок с друзьями вечером.

I loved the shisha smoking here. They also have a great selection of cocktails and pastry-based meals. The place is small, but very cosy. Atmosphere is always calm and friendly. Very good for winding down on a Friday evening.
