Schwarzwälder Kirsch-Black Forest Cake is said to have been invented in the kitchen of this café which opened 250 years ago, there are many places to go at Baden Baden but this is one of the best spots in the town center for that Kaffee

The Hotel Fichtelberghaus is located directly at the top of the 1215 m high Fichtelberg and is situated in Germany's highest city, Oberwiesenthal. The family-run Berghotel not only offers nature lovers and hikers a lot of recreation, but also culinary delights of the kitchen team around Dirk Meinel ensures enjoyment. No cycling this time, but a long weekend in the winter landscape of Oberwiesenthal. When we found out about a 'Kiwi Cafe", we just had to check that out. Ok, no real Kiwis, but run by some German NZ travellers, this place is definitely different from the standard old fashioned eateries in town. Stylish look, silver ferns logos, NZ pictures on the walls and definitely one of the few good places for real coffee in town. Nice food as well that would make some nice lunch options, but unfortunately the place only opens up just after lunch. And they may need to make up their minds what they really are. A cafe, serving sweets, bagels and panini? A place for burgers? A cocktail bar?
So is Kiwis 100% pure? Well, not completely or could you image a cafe in NZ not serving a flat white, a piece of carrot cake or yogurt instead of cream? But ok, Saxony may be just a little to far away from Aoteroa.

being there with family. Small rooms with smell off kitchen (1. floor). Restaurant on good level, non smoking. Beautiful old style restaurant, helpful staf. Despite the architecture, the hotel is just ordinary mouintaim cottage. Only negative is, there there is no room (just restaurant), where you can be with your friends/family. Credit cards not accepted here - didn't get this....

The food and service here are excellent. When the six of us arrived the restaurant was nearly full, yet our server managed to take orders and provide perfect service, with a friendly attitude, to all. The most special dish was the dumplings with a wonderful mushroom sauce, but all of our meals were tasty.

The street on which Daro is located, is loaded with other restaurants, with cheaper prices and similar offerings. I would actually recommend to go to them. We followed the Trip Advisor recommendations, and were quite disappointed.
The service was fast and attentive, however not very friendly. The food was disappointing though. This is not the first time we eat in Czech restaurants, and these dishes (we ordered 5 main courses) were on the bland side.
The venison and beef steaks were very hard to chew, the Cordon Bleau was undercooked, and the goulash was very fatty and flavor-less.
We visited Daniella restaurant in the evening, and enjoyed it much more

V tomto zařízení jsme byli pouze na obědě. Zoufalá a drzá obsluha, nekvalitní,nechutné a předražené jídlo. Obsluha se urazila a komentovala, že jsme naší nespokojenost vyjádřili ne poskytnutím spropitného.

Great atmosphere with sensational service.
We had a really tasty Medovnik and cheesecake, the coffee was one of the best I ever had - I recommend to try the syrup flavours to give your hot drink an interesting twist. Great variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
You can play pool and table football in the back room with a magical view on the countryside.
We were delighted. Cyclists and skiers friendly. We were also pleasantly surprised with the free wi-fi option.

Every time, we are close to Horni Blatna we must visit this restaurant. The food is delicious, nice serving :-)
Last time we try the Easter Offer - lamb ribs with herbs and pear puree and it was mouthwatering.
The owner is very friendly and speak with all clients to check that the are satisfied.
For weekend, it is better to have reservation.
