Our first visit to Portland and was recommended Quiddles by friends. Received a warm welcome, friendly staff! Too many tables for such a small room - the man on the table next door was uncomfortably close and in my space! Calamari starter in heavy unpalatable batter but the calamari itself was tasty. Scallops ok but served with a very tired and too much salad. The chips were okay and piping hot so some consolation! Tablecloth wasn't clean and wallpaper peeling - could do well with a little bit more attention to detail and some tlc!

Free onsite parking and quirky restaurant with big fish basins for the freshest fish ever. Extensive wine list and a starter from heaven. Mussels in a peppery cream sauce and makerel mouse for my wife. The main skate wings with baby potatoes and veg was amazing. Lemonsole for me most tender and fresh. The perfect Antidote to any chain restaurant for any fish lover. In summer it must be great to sit outside. We loved it.

Stopped at this cafe purely by chance. What a delightfull place. It was very busy and all the customer were very happy. Th staff were very attentive and helpfull. All the food is cooked on site and fresh to order. Service very quick. The menu is extensive. I had a Pate Ploughmans. Loads on the plate. 13 different types of salad and fruit. 2 of us dined for £22 including tea/coffee and a pudding. Good Value. The place was spotless as well. Well Done to everyone. We will be back.

Dinner can be a casual, stylish affair dining from our bistro menu. A relaxed dining atmosphere compliments the wonderful views. The Dinner menu offers Chef Signature dishes and a seasonal menu which is updated regularly. Dishes include Crispy sea bass with lobster bisque, honey nut roasted lamb rump, leek & blue vinny tartlet, or Summer berry chicken. Chef Richard always considers the food miles travelled and prefers to use good locally sourced products for his menu.

Clearly has a great location and views but the tea, cakes and kids drinks weren’t amazing.
However, can’t complain as it’s still good

Our outside Seating area allows you to enjoy your meal or relax with a drink, whilst soaking up the coastal atmosphere in the sun. Relax in front of the open fire and watch the stormy seas pound Chesil Beach. Drinks are a plenty! All the favourite draught lagers, ciders and bitters are available along with fantastic guest real ales. A fine wine list has also been prepared to suit the needs of all wine lovers. Coffee made from freshly ground beans and other hot drinks are available all day long from our Italian imported coffee machine.
On a blustery spring evening I hastily made my way to this slice of Portland stone carved into the format of a public house. I was greeted with an onslaught of warmth love and subtle scents of oak burning in the open fire. Slightly apprehensive I shuffled toward the beaming waitress behind the bar and ordered a pint of Doombar (on tap I'm not afraid to add!). I swallowed it down after parting with British currency. My day was made. I nestled my well toned buttocks into the nearest cushioned seat and purred lightly whilst sipping my golden goblet. Thank you all at the cove for your amicable generosity. I will be back soon.

Super friendly place to Eat, Drink & Sleep. Check out website for menus and opening hours. Dog friendly bar area.
Regularly eat here, friendly staff and atmosphere, food is amazing, bit pricey for some, however I don’t begrudge paying for good food. My boys ate every scrap (highly unusual for them) they enjoyed the outside play area , will of course be going back soon, one of my favourite places to eat, scallops are to die for, and my steak is always cooked to perfection, highly recommend
