Mi Otavalito was my favorite meal in Ecuador. Amidst the hustle and bustle of Plaza de Ponchos, Mi Otavalito is a pleasant respite. My pepper steak was absolutely excellent, easily the best I had of 4-5 well-reviewed restaurants in Ecuador. I strongly recommend Mi Otavalito!

A delightful hide-a-way 5 Star restaurant and resort. Dining here, a delight. Highly recommended by our Quito City friend Ana. Over-the-top elegance. Waitresses extremely attentive and helpful. Classically romantic setting. Picture windows overlook a park like area with roaming peacocks. Soup dishes presented in music boxes. Enjoyed the chocolate glazed steak. Many great and exciting menu choices.
Highly recommended for a long relaxing lunch if you're in the area.

Established in 2001, Buena Vista has a fabulous location with great views of the surrounding Mountains and a balcony where you can sit and watch the busy Indian market below. With its cozy lounge-style atmosphere, you can relax with family and friends and enjoy a great variety of food and cocktails at reasonable prices. Our menu offers a wide selection of Italian, American, Mexican and vegetarian-vegan food made with fresh, organic ingredients.
This has become our favorite "date day" cozy spot. The outdoor Seating is perfect for watching the bustle of the Otavalo market. Good food and a great selection of artisan beer and I order a large glass of wine with a very generous pour. Nice ambience to the place and the staff is very friendly. Our favorite meals are the pasta plates!

I really enjoyed the sandwiches which were a treat and hard to find in other places in Otavalo. The desserts are the best, especially the chocolate cookie served warm with ice cream!

La tradicion de comer rico y sano. The best ecuadorian food.
Fritas Amazonas
Is the gastronomic point with more tradition of Atuntaqui, province of Imbabura. This business is owned by Humberto Lima, who expanded it four years ago and built two additional premises, one on the Pan-American highway, five minutes from Ibarra
The food is of good quality, the services are not. The prices have gone up but the quality does not. I visited Amazon Fries with a couple of work friends. They are an excellent alternative if you get to know the typical food. Very good quality of the dishes. There is a lot of noise around, the service issue should be improved. A year ago we were in that Restaurant has typical foods, as logically: fry, potato tortillas, or llapingachos, served with the carrot and beet salad. Also on the mote they put the sweet and sour, a good avocado accompanies the dish, ripe fried.
It was well prepared, but, I asked them personally, they would not give me the pieces with fat. A good tourist place where the folklore is mixed with the gastronomy of the province of Imbabura. An excellent restaurant to visit and enjoy the traditional flavors of Ibarra and Imbabura. The lounge is spacious, clean, there is queuing to order what you want, has garage for many cars food is fresh, there is fry with mote and there are games for children to entertain.

The best part of this restaurant for us was the staff - they made is feel like part of the family. The food is varied (ecuadorian, american, italian) so there is something for everyone including vegetarians. I enjoyed the horneado de chancho and the kids loved their nachos and bean dip. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Part of the Hacienda Cusin in Otavalo
Food and service were exquisite. Meals are set menu. A starter, a choice of totally organic, locally sourced salad or a soup, the three main courses offered were a delicious smoked pork chop and fish (Ronaldo). The three of us had those choice a third main course was artichoke crepes. The desserts were wonderful too. Try the homemade ice creams with anything, it's that good..

We are facing the Plaza de los Ponchos on the second floor, perfect for admiring the handicraft market, we have a balcony to take pictures and enjoy a coffee exelentes outdoor
I went twice in two weeks and both times I sat for over 20 minutes waiting to place an order. There were no other customers and at least three visible staff walking around. Yesterday, I paid with a $20 bill. They had no change so ran out to get some but instead of hurrying back, they did food shopping! Everything I’ve had here is good, but there’s no excuse for the service.

Solid Rock is our go-to place for an American style breakfast. It is a meeting place for expats. The service is quick and they add new American style food all the time. I love the banana or blueberry pancakes. They cook the eggs just the way your order. Free refills on coffee. They have added eggs ranchero and breakfast burritos which are wonderful. Free WIFI. On Thursday morning the Solid Rock area has a market which you should not miss.

The restaurant is located beside the lake. We were sitting at the table just at the edge of the lake. Feel like we were on the boat. Great view of the valley cross the lake. They offer their traditional food and drink. You have to try their potato soup.
