My husband and I were struggling to find a hotel walkable from our hotel in Holzminden and open on a Monday night. We even asked some teens who referred us to McDonalds! Knowing this is not a nightlife mecca, we proceeded to search and happened upon Pinoccios.
We both had pasta (the specialty is pizza, but we were looking for more). The dishes were good, the beer exceptional (Pilsner).
They did have a (mostly) English menu, and the waitress was cheerful and pleasant. A good spot with acceptable Italian food and cozy atmosphere.

We have eaten at Sollingshöhe many times over the years. However, the last couple of visits really weren't up to the standard that we'd come to expect. I'm not sure what's going on, but I hope the Macke family will sort it out!
On this occasion, we visited as a family of four on a Friday evening to enjoy 2x "Gambas Start" (all you can eat prawns and 2x A la Carte meals. Upon arrival, it took about ten minutes until our drinks order was taken. Then we were given a bread basket and some red pesto as a dip... and the big wait began. At least it wasn't just us. Neighboring tables had arrived and presumably ordered well before us, and there was no food in evidence anywhere. Eventually, ours arrived about 50 minutes into the visit. We could have done with drink refills at the very least... But no chance. Service was nonexistent.
And how was the food? The majority of our prawns were overcooked and mushy. Some were fine, but of course you didn't know until you'd peeled them, and the mushy ones were really quite inedible. The seasoning was off: salt was lacking (in the past, the prawns were served with coarse sea salt on top) and the broth was very unrefined. I spotted garlic, lemon and chilli in it, but the balance was off. The aioli (garlic mayonnaise) was disappointing too. If I was a betting person, I'd bet it'd come straight from a jar. The other meals were fairly bland too: Schnitzel that was too thick and a kid's meal that was very much of the frozen-then-deep-fried variety.
All in all, such a shame! I love this restaurant and sincerely hope it'll find its way back to culinary delights before too long.

if you want fast service, good portions, fair prices come here. The steaks are to die for. There is nothing more to say.

One for a bit of variety if you are in Holzminden and don't want local cuisine. Good friendly service and unobtrusive ambiance. Food is neither authentic or particularly distinctive but good value.

Amazed to see the place so busy on a Monday evening. There were lots in the bar and several groups at tables. The waitresses coped well.

Great setting right by the lake. Friendly service and super place, particularly at lunch time as you can unwind and enjoy good food and drink at very reasonable prices.

The ambiance in the restaurant is very nice, an old buidling was redecorated nicely. The processses in the restaurant seem to be well organized and it is always well frequented. The menu offers a good variety, many dishes with coconut milk but not many spicy dishes. For me not so typical Thai more adapted to European taste buds. Nevertheless highly recommended in Holzminden.
