It has been such a pleasure to stay at the Kölblwirt for an incredible weekend. Experience traditional austrian culture, the clarity of the most tremendous sky at night and the relentlessness of the river Johnsbach in a rafting boat. Get lost in one of the particular caves, free your mind in the Wilderness and return to the finest food in the northern hemisphere - no pun intended. Whether you are 18 and ready to give your all to mountainbiking or 81 and all about watching the sun on the hills... Kölblwirt should be your choice.

Visited this establishment with my family-2nd visit for me
Although brother who lives locally is a regular visitor with his family
Food excellent quality. Three of us had onion soup for starters which was extremely filling!
Could have easily not rated main course which we had schnitzel
Plus chips & side salad-perfect!

I stopped by for lunch with my girlfriend. We were sitting outside in the shadow of trees which was really handy since it was 35 degrees!!! The service was good. I had excellent wiener schnitzel with fries and also ordered salat. The schnitzel was amazing. I also enjoyed the drafted wiesenbier. My girlfriend had steak from Turkey with asparagus and cheese which was only OK. I'd definitely recommend the place.

Nettes Gasthaus mit freundlichem Personal. Kinderfreundlich (Hochstuhl vorhanden, Wickeln möglich). Das Essen ist sehr gut. Bodenständige, österreichische Küche mit Tagesmenü. Die Portionen sind sehr groß und die Qualität des Essens überdurchschnittlich gut. Gerne wieder.

We stopped here twice, first on the way down and then on the way back the next day. The first visit I was really only looking for a coffe and snack, so I had the Apfelstrudel, Yum !, our Austianfriends had their favourite Topfenstrudel.
The next day we finished here after a long walk, cold and hunger I was ready for something more comforting, hello Fleischstrudel. A beef strudel in a beef broth, amazing, I could have eaten more than one but I remained polite.
If you find yourself out this way stop in and help yourself to some wonderful home cooking.

Auf der Durchfahrt halte ich immer wieder einmal hier an - jetzt habe ich auch wieder einmal gespeist.
Die Thai-Suppe ist (zumindest für mich) neu auf der Karte - und sie schmeckt köstlich, an einem kühlen verregneten Tag wärmt sie super auf.
Aber auch die Kürbiscremesuppe hausgemacht und köstlich.
Besonders gut auch "El Gaucho" - ein Riesenburger sehr speziell zubereitet - jedenfalls geht man sehr sehr satt wieder weg und hat gut gespeist.
Wir kommen gerne wieder

Pretty small place, inside smoking is a big -1 (even though they have a kind of separated area) but the food was good and the atmosphere welcoming. Owners didn't speak English, but very friendly and tried their best to make it work.

Located in central square in Trieben. Outside area with bar and more refined restaurant inside - we chose the latter. Very friendly English speaking owners, very willing to explain the menu which was in German.
No wine list but they are willing to make recommendations based on menu choice and preferences. We were offered a bottle of Southern Steuermark rosé, delicious and good value.
Extensive pizza menu, with 2 sizes, even the smaller of which was enormous. My wife and son both ordered Calzone (smaller size) and both were delicious (I tried some too), they both struggled to finish them. Pizza menu complimented by 4 pasta dishes, I tried a tortellini in ham and cream sauce. Absolutely delicious, very good dish indeed. Good desert selection, enjoyed by all 3 of us.
Great little restaurant great meal at a good price.
