This place had been recommended by a few locals on another restaurant as authentic Danish food no tourist would know about. And they were right. It's out in the suburbs (so to speak), about a ten minute train ride from the central station and a ten minute walk from the train. We got there right when they opened on a weekday and, even then, we were lucky to get in without a reservation, so I would recommend making one. We only ordered two entrees as a party of three, and even that was far too much. We got the meatballs and the Wiener Schnitzel and they were both eye-rollingly good. The gravy was absurd. I'm not a gravy person but I could happily just drink it down by itself given the chance. This was just crazy good and hearty food in a charming little restaurant run by equally lovely staff. Check it out.

Our restaurant, set in one of Copenhagen’s most beautiful royal Gardens. It is a curious and stylish cabaret of gourmet experiments, contemporary art and elaborate designs set to create a total experience. Design and art is a fundamental ingredient in the experience and our restaurant features the unique works of some of the most prominent artists and designers Denmark has formed in this decade. A treat for all your senses. “At M&H we are in a constant metamorphosis with nature as the driving force, guided by us. Our passion for Japanese aesthetics and ingredients are undeniable. Our restaurant is hidden in the old garden society in a historical building, delicately and iconically restored. In tune with the best of the seasons, our memories, desires, and emotions, these impressions are what the kitchen shares with you on your plate. We’re making advances towards nature.”
Invited my wife to this exclusive restaurant to celebrate our wedding-day. Very elegant and beautiful restaurant. And the food is just fantastic. And so was the wine that we had. Just to be inside the room is an experience. What a place and what fantastic dinner.
You only get 2 choises: 5 or 7 dishes (we had 5).
You will have to book a table in advance

Frederiks Have is a cozy restaurant situated on a side street to Smallegade at Frederiksberg, a few minutes walk from either Frederiksberg or Fasanvej metro, and bus 9A.
We pride ourselves with a relaxed, personal and professional service.
The kitchen is classic with a nordic twist, and we serve both a season based menu as well as a la carte. In every sense, handeled with respect.
My husband and I did a date night dinner here while on an extended stay in Copenhagen. This restaurant embodies the Danish concept of Hygge, or cozy/comfort. An absolutely lovely space which is very relaxing.
The food has some aspects of the "New Danish" style, though it is a little more mainstream than other places I've seen. So you will see some of those elements like foam, smokiness, and fermentation integrated into the food. I have to admit that I am not the biggest fan of this style, but the food was all expertly prepared and lovely in presentation. My husband, who loves this style of food, was very impressed by the quality of the food.
Service was extremely professional. Knowledgeable, there when you need them, not intrusive when you do not.
Overall, a very enjoyable dinner there.

This has been the best restaurant experience in Copenhagen.Felt you were very welcome guests.Fantastic wines and really good food to accompany them.We chose the four course menu with accompanying wines. Its possible to have two, three or four courses from the set menu.Tonight we began with charcuterie, followed by green and white asparagus lasagne topped with cod.Absolutely delicious- especially since the lasagna was so thin and silky..A Guinea fowl risotto topped with black truffle followed.Again very moreish.Thinly sliced beef and grilled vegetables followed.Accompaying wines were first class .The restaurant was full - mainly groups and family get togethers. At times there were waits between courses but we didn't mind.It gave us longer to chat and enjoy the evening.Nice not to have a time constraint on the table.
The restaurant is easily reached on the 6A bus from the central station.

Whist wandering around Copenhagen, we stumbled across this vibrant little food market called Torvehallerne. Inside they had quirky food stalls and coffee shops. It smelt amazing in there!
Anyway, we came across The Collective Coffee, a trendy little coffee corner that caught my eye. They filtered their coffee in a really unusual way, using these weird metal and glass filter tubes. And being a sucker for beautifully designed packaging, I wanted my cappuccino in one of those cool geometric plastic cups, saddo I know. But honestly, this was one of the best cappuccino’s I’ve ever had and it’s a great spot for people watching!

Having progressively won the Bocuse d'Or over the years (from Bronze to Silver and finally Gold), this showcases a progressive Chef who constantly questions and pushes the boundaries of Danish gastronomy. A little far from the city center, it is in an office-like building. The space is amazing with an open kitchen displaying Chefs plating the food. Perhaps a little too friendly service (when they start asking you what you do for work, it gets a little invasive), they often forgot our table with our wine or even the cheque. The food was different; a little too progressive to a point that you would miss the lamb if you didn't know it was really the main course. However as the only 3 star restaurant in Geranium, it is worth the detour. If anything, it is about the experience.

Ristorante La Vita é Bella offers a genuine Italian welcome, with great atmosphere and delicious Italian cuisine. La Vita e Bella is located in the heart of Copenhagen, close to the Forum, the Radisson BLU hotel, many theatres, and just a few minutes' drive from Copenhagen's main train station. The restaurant seats up to 80, but also offers out of house catering for up to 200 covers. If you're taking in a show at the Falconer Hall or going to the theatre in Frederiksberg, La Vita é Bella is a good opportunity to enjoy a quick and delicious Italian meal before or after the event.
We just had an amazing food experience in this restaurant so I feel eager to tell you about it. We chose a 4 course meal, the truffle special, with wine. All of the courses were special and amazing but we simply loved the second one, homemade pasta with spinach and mascarpone. The staff was friendly and service minded and the atmosphere were cosy and “ Italian “. We will come back for sure the next time!!! Great value for money!!!

Viet Hoa's buffet is a great choice for eating out on a weekday. The buffet has several different asian style dishes wich all tastes delicious and seem like genuine asian cuisine. The restaurant is decorated in a kitsch asian style, but all in all it makes a really nice atmosphere. Personally I would not go here for a special ocasion, but if you don't feel like cooking dinner it really is worth a visit.

The food here in the evenings is a joy to eat. On my first night I ate the "English Steak." This is sirloin steak, and was a very goodly-sized portion. It came with a wonderful covering of fried onions, which I presume had been cooked in the juices from the steak. I would go as far as to say this was the best restaurant cooked steak I have EVER had. It came with perfectly boiled small potatoes, a cucumber salad, and a dish of home-made gravy. If I were to rate this out of ten, I would score it an eleven.
My second evening was spent attacking a man-sized weinerschnitzel, which again was excellent. the sauteed potatoes were lovely, and again a dish of home-made gravy. the beauty of the latter is that you can use as little or as much as you want to.
The starter I had of garlic bread was so good that I had it both nights. It comes nice and soft, with a nicely spiced flavour. Not too strong, but tasty. it was also topped with chopped tomatoes and, I think, finely choped parsely.
This is an excellent restaurant. The only little niggle is that the menu is a little lacking in depth.

Great little cafe, located in the shopping centre. Menu selection accords with what you would expect in a Danish cafe. The burger was great but what was important for this experience was the extra effort put in by the staff to ensure that the meal was gluten free. The young wait staff had not come across a request for a gluten free meal and once aware what it was they went out of there way to ensure the meal was gluten free.
Very impressive.
