This is a favorite with the locals. The food is very good, and in the mid-price range. It is also hard to beat the location right by the water, so make sure you get a table by a window, to enjoy the view. There is a great bakery in the same building, and a popular beach right below.

Hembygdsgårdens café and restaurant in Vaxholm is open from may to september. Enjoy good food, wine and homebaked pastries from their own bakery. Situated just by the water with a stunning wiew of the inlet of Vaxholm archipelago. Don´t miss the muséum where they show you how a life of a fisherman used to be. For more information go to facebook: vaxholms hembygdsgards cafe
Such a beautiful place to have a cup of tea or breakfast. Charming atmosphere and a beautiful cakes display with lilies. Personnel very helpful and kind. Water is free of charge. Everything is just so well designed to give you maximum comfort. From the garden you can enjoy the splendid scenery. Highly recommendable to come to Vaxholm just for this.

Welcome to Artipelag Restaurant on the third floor of the Artipelag art museum. We offer a lunch and brunch buffet based on ingredients of the season. We rave for ecological and locally produced food and many of our ingredients come from our own cultivations on the roof. Outside the large Panorama windows is the beautiful archipelago nature. Here you will find our inspiration, welcome and join us!
An excellent Swedish Buffet. It is a large space with fabulous views of the natural environment of pines, rock and water. The buffet selections were very good and well worth having. It is self serve and you pick your own Seating. Very highly recommend.

Restaurant Holmen, located in the marina of Grand Hotell Saltsjöbaden is the main meeting place for locals and visitors. The restaurant has maintained the local atmosphere and this year expanded with local lounge built on a barge.
Food is fine, value for money. The menu offers some standard meals and a small selection of fish and meet.
Take the train, boat or car to Saltsjöbaden between May and September and you will have a wonderful evening in the sunset in the middle of the archipelago.

This is a spot which I have frequented for some time when in the Stockholm area. They have some basic 10-piece, 12-piece and other less expensive selections. They also make some Negamaki and Teriyaki dishes. However, my personal favorite is the Dragon Roll. It is delicious and quite filling. The mere fact that I have been going there for a long time speaks volumes. There are other options and I have not taken advantage of them. The place is satisfying and the staff friendly. The only conceivable downside is that the view is of the parking lot. But you can always walk off a few calories and see the harbor after lunch or dinner. Enjoy.

This place is so bad it's almost funny......
Went with my 3 children.
Eldest ordered plain burger, no salad, no relish, no mayo.
Sent back twice before they actually brought a plain burger.
My burger was dry, bread burnt and salad old. Waitress then argued that salad just appeared old cause it was in burger. Then seemed seemed devastated when I said I wouldn't pay for it.
Was then told I had to order drink at my table not at the bar.
Olearys are bad anyway but the one in Gustavsberg is the worst !!
The worst dining experience in the last 12 months ....
AVOID !!!

The Cafe is in the middle of an open air shopping-centre, which is next to several supermarkets, so its perfect for lunch or cafe after shopping. They offer several lunch menus from salads to fish. We had "Fish and Shrimps" which was very nice and Kottbullar (good, but the dry kids-Version). The Cappuccino and the cakes are delicious. The staff is super friendly. Good place for a stop.

This is worth a trip. They call it Sunday brunch but it is really as gorgeous buffet with fresh, excellently prepared dishes--hot and cold. All you can eat. And you can sit outside on a big Terrace and watch the yachts sail by. The staff are friendly and helpful. On the menu, we particularly liked the smoked and the "gravad" salmon, the seaweed salad, the fish cakes, the chicken, and the waffles. The ideal way to get here is by boat, but it is not too difficult to come here by bus from Slussen in the city.

This is one of the few places I've visited where I can actually feel and taste that the food was cooked and prepared with love. It is quite easy to recognize when there is a rich gradient of tastes and texture in the food. But here you can tell that they've used quality ingredients.
The restaurant is run by a lovely couple and the location is just as good as it gets, just next to the sea. I'm pretty sure you could get here by boat as well.
If you are visiting Stockholm i stongly recommend to visit this gem, its situated in the beautiful Saltsjöbaden. Or if you are local you should definitly pay a visit otherwise you may miss something. The prices are good and I they also have couple of nice wines that goes well with the food.
