A charming setting on a square with small streets and no cars. I was sitting outside and could watch the people while having dinner. The staff was very attentive and spoke good English and German apart from the Italian. The good was good quality and I did not have to wait for it. The salad was on the table within minutes after I had ordered it and the other dishes came at my pace. I travel a lot and it is always a pleasure to find a combination of good food and good service.

So it's an Osteria di mare - seafood restaurant. But it's owned and run by the Grado Fishermen's Co-operative - so you're really helping out the workers themselves. Plus, the seafood and fish are really fresh. The outdoor location is pretty and excellent view. The prices are very reasonable. What more could you want?

We visited the Spaghetti House on Monday and we got the table without booking it before. Place was nice and service was friendly. One older waitress had problem understanding English and German, but one older waiter was helpful and we get everything what we order....MoreDear Rdt, Thank you very much for the kind words we are glad that you have been good to us. we are waiting with pleasure in your next holiday. Best regards laura and Christian

When in Grado it is sometimes difficult to find a free table to have a dinner in the historical centre. We felt lucky to finally have a table in this restaurant. The food was good - nothing extraordinary, with average prices for the location. The calms were a bit small portion if compared to other restaurants. The personnal was a bit disy - working in a hurry to serve the guests, maybe a bit coordination between them would be useful but anyway it was a nice dinner with a free melone liqueare at the end as a gift from the house.

The restaurant is located in the historic center of Grado centrally located in the renovated Piazza Duca d'Aosta. The kitchen is traditionally the territory, typically based on fish and fish offered varies depending on the island, with dishes expertly revisited, rich aromas and flavors.Mr. John Gaddi has managed since 1954 to build his ambitious and simple mechanical to the delight of his guests. Now his son Massimo continues with the family. The dining room and wine cellar are followed by Ernesto Cozzolino, while in the kitchen, there Simone Zugnaz and Erik Baiano and Luca Bardinelli.
I had not been to this place for over 50 years and it has changed! This well known restaurant offers locally sourced food and has a good reputation but, perhaps due to high expectations, we were somewhat disappointed.
The food was good but, with the exception of the spaghetti (no tagliatelli) with ragu given to my 9 yr old son, small in quantity. I'd hoped a place like this would make pasta to order...
I asked for Boreto Gradese (a local fisherman's casalinga dish) for two and was given one small portion and two plates of this cheap but simple dish - with polenta bianca as is the tradition. The antipasti and primi piatti were also somewhat puny in comparison to local competitors and overpriced but quite edible.
I had the house red wine which was excellent.
We were still hungry on leaving but were able to get excellent pizze at il Delphino Blu.
Maybe others with lower expectations will be more pleased.

The "Approdo" Restaurant Bar offers a cuisine based on fish between starters, main courses pasta and fish cooked in a masterly way.Unique for its ability to reach it both by sea with boats both by land with car, with a large free car park attached to the local level, will allow you to spend time enjoying the food and the breathtaking views of the Grado's lagoon.
Non-assuming road side bar-restaurant, dining room built on stints on the laguna. Owner extremely nice and helpful and very proud of the local culinary traditions. Had a large serving of fresh scallops, mussels and a fresh local variety of sole. All fish very fresh and perfectly prepared. Price reasonable to low.

Excellent seafood in a nice, informal yet sophisticated atmosphere right on the sea. The different courses are impeccably presented by Michela, the welcoming owner. The menu offers a wide range of traditional dishes as well as very innovative ones prepared by a Sicilian chef who offers also a tasty choice of desserts among which a delicious “cassata siciliana” . The choice of wines matches the menu very well.
A perfect place for a romantic dinner or a family celebration.

My two Austrian friends joined me for dinner at this lovely restaurant. Since I love branzino cooked in salt (in case you haven't tried it, it does not taste salty, but the salt keeps the inside of the fish incredibly moist!) we stopped at Al Marinaio when we saw it on the menu. It w a great meal from start to finish. We wanted to have a fish large enough for three, so they bought out four fish for us to choose from. On of my friends has problems and needed to have her potatoes boiled with no salt, no oil, no butter...no problem for them! The service was excellent, the fish and potatoes delicious, and the insalata mista very fresh. the wine recommendation from the waitress was excellent and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend that you give this restaurant a try. Good, fresh food prepared well.

Traditional fish restaurant
rustic, friendly, fast. i guess you want to act as local as possible, ask for what's good, trust the waiter's suggestions, rather than go a la carte. excellent sauté, great main courses, and fantastic "boreto", the most local of dishes, to die for :) prices are honest, but hey, this is still grado and the place is full, giving off the same table up to three times in an evening. so i do not know that they need to lower them even more as some reviewers seem to suggest.. booking advised and i think absolutely to try if in grado.

We have eaten in 20 plus restaurants in Grado and this is where you will get the best Pizza .They make the dough and cook in a tradional oven. It is also a very good restaurant serving local specialities. This is always fully booked so do book or arrive by 7 pm .
