Gourock (/ˈɡʊərək/ ( listen) GOOR-ək; Scottish Gaelic: Guireag [kuɾʲak]) is a town falling within the Inverclyde council area and formerly forming a burgh of the county of Renfrew in the West of Scotland. It has in the past functioned as a seaside resort on the East shore of the upper Firth of Clyde. Its principal function today, however, is as a popular residential area, extending contiguously from Greenock, with a railway terminus and ferry services across the Clyde.

Over the holiday period , I have been in a number of times and always a delight. Great, efficient service. Good menu and that view. Good to reserve a table as gets busy and can be noisy when busy but only an issue as there for catch up with friends.

Tried this place but wouldn’t rush back. Cullen Skink was ok, steak was small and chips were cold. However the biggest disappointment was the waitress who seemed totally disinterested. At one point she appeared to pull a face like a moody teenager when we asked for another bottle of wine (not that she’d noticed it was empty) Doubt the staff have had any training in customer care and it shows. Management should focus on the basics!

We had a pizza and a calozoni with chips. Both well presented and hot! Filling and of course tasty! The meals took quite a while to come but the waiter apologised for this. We both agreed we would recommend this restaurant due to the food and cleanliness.

Have eaten here on numerous occasions but a year or so ago it had gone down hill. On occasion Taj Mahal was back to its old self. Well done. Delicious food was had all round.
We also had takeaway meals at Christmas and everything was cooked fresh and tasted fantastic.
Try the buffet nights on a Monday and Tuesday for a great value sit down nosh up. Or, a takeaway meal for two.

As you see the interior, it's different than a normally indian restaurant. It's modern, tight, chic, here and there some indian pictures and on the other hand the light is a little bit kitschy. The food could be very good ( for not vegetarian). For vegetarian, there is enough choices but finally all tasted the same. Good service and friendly people. The location is not so far from Holiday Inn express.

Met with friends for lunch at the Loft, Flava for lunch - but hadn't realised that there was a lunchtime and evening meal menu. Slightly disappointed with the lunchtime menu as really only one starter (soup) available. We ended up sharing garlic bread, nachos and onion rings which were on the menu as side orders. The food was fine, though the service was absolutely chaotic when we arrived and we waited 20 minutes after ordering to be served with our drinks, most of us ordered wine which wasn't very cold. Still the service picked up as the day went on and I really think it was just down to a lack of bodies dealing with the amount of customers. We had a table seat and the views across the Clyde were amazing

This is a pretty good restaurant for those days that you don’t require fine dining but don’t want to cook! You can choose between the funky, American-themed section on the first floor, or the Italian place below. The American section offers burgers, nachos, mac n cheese, pizza and a variety of sandwiches. They have a full bar, play 70s music, and usually have a live band on Saturday nights.
