„O PAPARICO“ Restaurant is a hidden gem in Porto. It is absolutely amazing in everyway from its interior décor and charming rustic stone walls, to its furniture and tableware design. Superb elegance and taste! For starters we chose oysters and steamed seasoned bivalve molluscs but dinner began with a warm tasty broth, followed by a set of appetizers which included a black eyed beans vinagrette, a type of codfish pasty, 40 years cured smoked ham and olive fois gras. All delicious and amazingly presented. Then came our starters’ order. The bivalve molluscs were well seasoned and the algae gave it a pleasant sea taste. In between came a “home” baked bread and “bôla” - absolutely divine... For main course we had the baked sea bream with a mixed tomato salad. Very light and tasty. For dessert we shared an egg designed dessert which was splendidly presented and tasted heavenly! Accompanying coffee we were presented with a sculpture that had three types of mini macarrons, all delicious (my favorite was the passion fruit flavoured one). The staff are very profissional and attentive throughout dinner. It was a very pleasant dinner with friends that turned out to be superbly amazing and exceeded our expectations! Very highlly recommend it for an amazing gourmet experience!

Recommended by our son, we visited this superbly located wine bar twice on the same day, for late afternoon drinks and for a light supper. We sat outside at the wall overlooking the Douro taking in the spectacular view of the port lodges and the...MoreThank you Lee P for your review. It was a pleasure to welcome you at our home! The staff are at least trilingual, so very very nice. You can order a full breakfast,, just coffee and a nata, or you can have soup and a Sandwich. There are multiple choices according to the time and appetite. The food is excellent and the service goes way beyond all expectations. Excellent!! We did go back again and again!

OK, we got in without one, but it was luck. Well worth it. Tuna Tataki was superb, peanut foam dessert excellent. This is modern food, very well done. Service is very good. Myself and my friend love a good breakfast and brunch. This cafe met our high expectations! The breakfast was amazing! The carrot bread and pumpkin breads are amazing and the scrambled eggs were divine. The owner and waiter was incredibly sweet - explained everything very well, very gracious. We loved it! We would most definitely return again.

Please take my advice - this is a GREAT place ! My wife and I loved our meal, as well as the ambiance of this small, round restaurant. Presentation is very important to the chef. The waiters are skilled and attentive. The wine selection is very appropriate for the menu. The location can't be beat. Not one complaint. I recommend this place as a first dining stop in Porto.

Had a huge craving for something healthy and this salad definitely hit the spot and more. It was fresh, a decent portion size and very tasty.
I also had a flat white with lactose free milk which was well made by Melbourne coffee standards ;) I did request for lactose free milk but was unaware that there'd be an extra charge. This didn't bother me as I was so content with my meal and coffee but just thought I'd mention it here in case others are unpleasantly surprised by it.
Amazing food and cosy place. Worth the walk just for the coffee.

Returned to this place 6 months later... same friendly welcome... same quality Francesinha... the same best francesinha sauce... and the huge range of beer offer (mainly german and Belgium brands, but others available too). And cannot recommend this place enough. If you have troubles finding it, search for Sá da Bandeira Pharmacy ... the restaurant is opposite the street.

Popular wine and cheese eatery at the heart of the action. We got in at the third attempt on Easter weekend.
Staff polite and relaxed.
Cheese plate was good but I found the bread disappointing. Maybe they had run out of the good stuff.
We sampled two good local red wines.
