From the delightful welcome to the complimentary schnapps we felt completely relaxed in this small and beautifully presented and typical old Swiss style restaurant. All the food was excellent but not expensive, and the capuns, meat balls with mashed potato and gravy, with a cheesy fried addition were just superb (may be Bunder Kuche?). The vegetarians enjoyed very good ravioli. With a carafe of wine and some interesting desserts it was a vey enjoyable evening. A number of locals came in to a delightful welcome.

Family of 7, close to 9pm when the Kitchen would normally shut, early January just after New Year. Simply excellent. Good service, and food of the highest quality. Not particularly expensive either. Would definitely recommend and we will return next year. Thanks !

But avoid the main lunch time when it can get crowded

Every year when I visit my family in Vorarlberg Austria, the first place I go out to eat is the Montanella Stobli. The restaurant is situated on the side of a mountain overlooking beautiful views of the Austrian alps. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy. The decor is a perfect example of Ausrian craftsmanship: solid carved wooden Montafoner furniture and wooden beams, fresh flowers adorne all the tables, and a large cozy fireplace. The attention to little details make this a unique establishment. The bar is beautiful and of course there is a Kachel Ofen! The owners are always around either serving or saying a friendly hello. The menu is typical Austrian foods like Schnitzle, Spatzle or Goulasch. There is something for every one on the menu. The food is amazing. Good quality, perfect portion sizes and beautifully presented. The dessert menu is a must try, especially the Strudel! The owner is called the Strudel Queen for a reason. The Strudel is out of this world! Try the Strudel trio: three generous sizes of different Strudel. The establishment is child-friendly and has a non-smoking section.

After a 9-mile hike over Versettla and Madrisella, we staggered into this friendly outdoor mountain bar at around 4.00pm. But lunch was still available, and we had an excellent and reviving goulasch soup. The party was already in full swing, with plenty of raucous toasts, celebrating the day's achievements in the hills. Great atmosphere, surrounded by cows with bells, and just around the corner from the chairlift back down to the valley.

Food was tasty but no better than any pizza/ pasta restaurant, thought staff seemed very uninterested, service was a bit slow but that doesn't bother us as we like to sit and chat over a meal. It was busy but I suppose that's because of its situation and there is not too many restaurants to choose from. Average food, average prices and average service, no complaints but also no big compliments.

We were riding our mountain bikes down the valley when we came across Höhwald. Situated in an elevated position, with a cosy outdoor deck, and all made it with thorough quality, we went in and enjoyed a very familiar-type service and absolutely great food. Don't miss this one!

Outstanding friendly service for us and the three kids (1,3,9). Drawing stuff, extra plates, free scoop ice cream for dessert, etc. Food is very nice in classic Austrian cuisine style. Will certainly recommend.

The small road up to Partnun never seems to end, but it is so beautiful so it doesn't matter. We are welcomed by the owner and food is waiting for us in the cosy restaurant. Everybody is friendly and smiling and the surroundings, high up in the Alps include magnificent walks. Back in the little berghaus you can have a drink and watch the alps and listen to the clocks from the cows, or have a bath in the outdoor tub before dinner.

During a 5 month stay in the area thus was one of my favourite restaurants. With stunning views over Klosters, the restaurant sits high in the Mountains. Transport is recommended if you don't want an uphill walk, but it's well worth it. For the more adventurous if there is snow you can toboggan back down! The food is of an exceptional standard; we had a range of dishes and everyone was delighted. It's in the higher price range for the area but worth every franc! I heartily recommend this restaurant, especially for that special occasion, be it lunch or dinner.
