A 40 minute direct ferry ride from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, Galiano Island is a fabulous day trip destination for those seeking a taste of the Gulf Islands. From the spectacular white shell midden beaches at Montague Harbour, to the sandstone caves at Dionisio Point, to the art galleries and bohemian culture and shops at Sturdies Bay, this island's a wonderful place to explore for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. Note that the island is rather hilly and destinations are spread out. Having a car is recommended.

The restaurant is perfectly situated over looking the beach in the Gardens of the Galiano Oceanfront Inn. The music they played was really good and we loved the pizza. Great thin crust and perfectly cooked. Service was good once they noticed us sitting there, but I waited almost 20 mins before anyone came over. Very tasty spinach salad was big enough for two to share as was the pizza.

We ate twice at the Hummingbird during our week on Galiano. Although the place has a run-down feel to it, it's entirely in keeping with the Island. A limited menu, but the the food was freshly cooked, tasty and well presented. Loved the music; and the staff were friendly and efficient. Altogether a pleasant experience. Would visit again next time on Galiano.

More than once we've popped in for a Sandwich when shopping at Country Market, and the food and service are always dependable. Great if you want to put together a picnic lunch for eating in the harbour or on the beach! As for atmosphere; nah, you're in a corner of the grocery store for goodness sakes! It's a place to eat fast, or grab and run, but not gab!

No ferry ride from Galiano is complete without a visit to Max & Moritz's! Besides, the smell of the food is so tempting...especially in comparison to what's on board the Ferries (no offense, whitespot!). I think I have tried just about everything on that menu and enjoyed it all... In my opinion, the only downside is it's a little pricey for food truck-type food.

The photo (featured) is from last year. The Bakery is now located adjacent to the Galiano Garage and across the street from the Windermere Realty office. New place has Seating inside as well as outside. Prices are $$ to $$$ for locally baked goods. They often sell out, so best to check in early.

Having read great reviews we really wanted to eat here, we weren't disappointed. The menu was imaginative, the service friendly and the food was great. The place had a lovely laid back feel but they were very efficient getting people served even though they cooked things freshly and were quite busy. Highly recommended if you're lucky enough to be there when it is open!

Small selection, but really good ice cream at an affordable price! We visited twice on our trip to Galiano. The waffle cones were the best, and we liked the kit kat ice cream, the peanut butter, and the cherry cheese ones too! The owner/manager is...MoreThank you for your review :) We have another ice cream drop cooler going in this week! Next time you visit we will have DOUBLE the flavours! Look forward to seeing you again.

Hands down THE BEST Thai food I've ever had (besides Thailand itself). Not open during winter months, lets hope it's open in May, cause I've waited close to a year to order up again! Fresh, delicious...I'm ordering the whole menu this time round, it's that good.

Farm-to-table restaurant, located near Montague Harbour on Galiano Island.
Make Reservations before you get to Galiano! We didn't, wandered up on Thursday - Full, came back Friday - Full, Saturday - didn't even try, but Sunday - Success! Was it worth the wait. Yes!
"Share Plate" concept is the perfect approach to sampling the local delectables. Seasonal menu rotates regularly but pilgrimme is more than food preparation, it's a celebration of place and it's well deserving of the Canadian Top 100 restaurants.

Babes really has it going on. We had lunch here on both days of our visit and thoroughly enjoyed. The pizzas are great-nice thin crust and lots of interesting toppings. Wait staff is friendly, accommodating and good. My cappuccino was excellent (I personally like my foam quite dense). Their baked goods looked amazing but...too full from the pizza. Will revisit here on next visit.
