this is the restaurant at the grand wisata hotel, and I can't figure out why they call it edelweis. the food is Chinese and Indonesian, not Swiss. the tables are unusually high, close to seated shoulder height, which is a bit strange. however, the food is good, and the menu has a lot of variety. the indonesian food is authentic, not westernized, so some of the Indonesian dishes can be very hot, (the asem pedas preparation was just at the edge - any hotter would have been too hot for me) but not all are, so if you don't tolerate chili, you will still find plenty to eat. service is slow - cooking takes time, and if you order two dishes they won't come out together. air conditioning is mild, so the room is only a bit cooler than the outside, but mosquito free.

Although Ende is not a city worth spending a lot of time, visiting Sari Rasa is one thing worth doing. The owner Martin is super friendly and speaks English quite well. He explain the menu and advises what to take. The food is cooked deliciously and the price is still very modest. Although the place might look like your typical Warung you see everywhere, this most definitely isn’t.

First of all the picture is not this resto lol.(im sorry i can upload a pict.right now but the picture uploaded by other is right across this resto. Yeah its very close to the sea.)
What i love from this resto is the owner is cooperative as it easlly reserved by phone. Its a slow cook resto. So it be better if you reserve first. I took about 30-60 minutes for a table.
They have fish, chicken, vegetables, and seafood (normally, but sometimes prawn/squid/crab isnt available).
The food is great! Really. And it come in big portion too. I love "kangkung bunga pepaya"(water spinach with papaya flower), "terong bakar" (grilled eggplant with sweetsour sauce/soy), and crunchy fried squid with mayonaise.
The woku woku fish soup is great too.
My my..
Well, its a little bit far from the airport (10 minutes or less by car or bike) and is nearby the beach (exactly across the street to the beach cafes (one inside fences))
The place might be not that much but the food is good i tell ya.
Oh and for fishes menu ask the price first.
Hope it helps

The restaurant was opened by a very nice & friendly couple from Lamongan (East Java). We were referred by the car rental driver, and it seemed like it was a popular place.
We were there for late dinner, and there were not many fish to choose from. So we ordered what was available, fried chicken, grilled aubergine, and fried tofu & tempe. All were served with very hot chilli sauce.
The grilled fish and aubergine were very tasty. The spicy chilli sauce was a perfect condiment. The price is very cheap.

We picked this place because of the rather good reviews and were welcomed by a big guy with dreads called Darno. We ordered the fish curry (80.000) and the Mie Goreng (40.000). More expensive than our average dinner, but it turned out to be really good! Both dishes, but especially the fish curry. Lots of big chunks of tuna, egg plant and a very tasty sauce.
After dinner we asked Darno for some infos and he turned out to be one of the friendliest and most helpful people we've met on our trip. We asked for a motorbike and it was cheaper (100.000 petrol excluded) than it would've been at our guest house (150.000, petrol included). Perfect for us because we only wanted to go up Kelimutu once with it. When we joked him that we are afraid of the cold morning in our thin clothes, he brought us three jackets to borrow from him and the staff!
He is also responsible for the camp side (The Orange Jungle Deep Camp) and does good discounts if you stay for more than one night. Worth checking out.
When be brought the bike back the next day, Darno helped us flag the right bus to Bajawa down. Great guy. Very happy to have met him!
