Nice place. Great and tasty food. Relaxing atmosphere. Helpful and friendly staff. Come and try.
Ate here twice during our stay, extremely fresh food set on a wonderful harbour background. The smell of grilling fish and wonderfully attentive staff creates a great atmosphere. Highly recommend the fish platter for all the best of the days catch!

Restaurant Pecina is located in Ploce where the A-1 Hwy ends and before you get to the marshy area of the Neretva River. There are no gas stations/ rest stops with food on a long stetch of the new Hwy before Ploce. Pecina has a lovely, vine covered Terrace, a dark bar that looks like a cave and two indoor dining areas (one with the cave theme). We ate there on our way to Dubrovnik and again, on the way back.We were pleasantly surpised both times! On the first visit I had a very tasty tomato based seafood risotto and my husband had an excellent grilled shish-k-bob. On our 2nd visit we started with an exceptionally good marinated seafood salad. As an entree my husband had the Adriatic squid. He had a very generous portion of 8 or 9 very tasty squid. I had a wood grilled Bass which was one of the freshest, tastiest fish I had the whole trip. (That is really saying something because we ate a lot of fish!). On top of this the prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served.
My only complaint is about the bathrooms. Although they are basically clean and provide a generous supply of toilet paper and paper towels they are dingy and dark. They need a fresh coat of paint and better lighting. In addition, the 2nd time I was there the toilet seat was off in the ladies room.

Family farm Antunović is situated on the beautiful Croatian peninsula of Pelješac which is located on the southern Croatian, Dubrovnik - Neretva County. Our farm is located right in the heart of peninsula, in Kuna. This city rose among vineyards and olive groves, the green meadows, near Vale church, which was the starting point of path wine. At the farm, there are three areas with animals that specially attract visitors: sheep farm with 250 heads goat farm with about 70 heads donkey farm with about 70 heads Throughout the year visitors can enjoy the farm animals and donkeys. Special feature of this farm is reflected in the unique manufacturing process ecologically grown food that comes directly to the plate in the beautiful tavern fenced by walls over three centuries. The farm produces 4 types of milk: sheep, goat, cow and donkey. Family farm also has abundance of 15,000 vines and 70 olive trees. In the tavern visitors can try a variety of traditional specialties characteristics for this area. There are various types of cheese, ham, cured meats, roast lamb, goat, veal and domestic products that grown on the farm, such as cabbage and potatoes. Also it is recommended to try the local dishes such as Pikatić, tripe, stew and wine goulash. In order to proceed the right domestic, traditional style, the hosts will make homemade bread that simply amazed with its aroma and flavor and offer homemade aperitives, brandy and wine as well. Great vineyard provides high quality of red and white wines where visitors can treat their taste buds and enhance every meal. Family farm Antunović was crowned with a gold medal in 2013. for the development of Croatian, as part of the coast - the United Nations, which encourages and promotes green business in Dalmatia, ensuring economic sustainable development and livelihoods in rural areas.
After being here second time I must say that I expected at least the same feeling like first time.. I cannot say food is not good - actually it is, but the way of serving and also hospitality was different to my previous experiences. Mr. Antunovic should carefully thing about customer needs and probably change behavior of staff. Maybe we just have to high expectation based on previous visits... We did not feel that we are at home as last time :(
To fully summarize it - great place with great potential and great food.

Great and authentic experience in the middle of Peljesac peninsula. Great food and homemade wine, selection of grappa ( Rakija and liker). Amazing ambient inside the taverna with funny and easy going hosts. Not the biggest selection of food but you can be sure it is fresh and local! Try to explore the property while there…

Home cooking, not touristy but friendly with splendid food. Fish or meat, no mistake there. Charming hosts, the Mom in the kitchen, Father at the charcoal grill and son as waiter. In the evening, father and son entertain the guests by singing after the dinner is served. Very moderate prices. Worth visit. Do not look at the menu, just tell them to bring the best if the day and you shall not be sorry.

This place is perfect, and worth the effort to get there. The seafood is fresh, the service is very very kind (not always the case in Croatia!), the wine generously poured, and the view on the sea amazing especially as sunset. The picnic-tables under the pines make it a true summer retreat, far from the crazy crowds. I would go back to Peljesac because of this place.

When it comes to great wines, Croatia's Peljesac Peninsula doesn't exactly spring to mind the way Montepulciano or Rioja might. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't pay a visit to Peljesac's family-owned wineries Matusko. The Matusko Winery wines are easily identified by their unique labeling which features the illustration of two donkeys. The wines produced at Matusko Winery are known to be high quality and affordable, making it a popular tourist attraction for the growing wine enthusiast market that is emerging in Croatia. Dingač, matured in silence of oak barrels, with dark ruby red color and purple hues but clear at the same time, it has full and rounded flavor, harmonious taste combining astringency and sweetness. Their smooth and well-balanced Plavac Mali is not only great, but also quite affordable. As and addition to winery, Restaurant Tavern Matusko will offer you some local dishes served on a lovely Terrace perched on the hill above the sea.
We were in a trip back home from Viganj to Dubrovnik and since we skipped brakefast we were first guests on lunch. We found little tavern on the beach. It was simple, basic, clean and with charming staff.
Menu was simple, just less than ten dishes in every section. Basic, local, simple. I have found maybe one unorhodx risotto with curry.
Waitres was very knowlgeable and nice and have us her choice. Black risotto, tuna steak and cold platter for first course.
Soon the platter came. Delicious, home made, fresh local fish salted and marinated and pate with Big tasty peaces of fish. Amazing, i was 80% full after first dish. Perfect.
Then risotto came. It looked like Black peace of heaven. Cook managed to pull out the best out of fresh fish and local spices. BEST BLACK RISOTTO IN UNIVERSE. Tuna steak was large and tasty also, and chard was so well done that even that bring plant was all New surprise.
I will never ever pass this road again and miss this risotto. I ate at least 30 Black risottos in best croatian places and homes and this one beat one my mom makes.
And view is perfect, open sea and little beach to jump in the sea while You wait for foods.
This dining is for michellin star.

We came with high expectations since this restaurant (konoba) was recommended to us by a friend.
Service was not only very slow but we got different meals from the one we ordered!
Waitress shall be taking notes when receiving orders.
Waited for more than an hour for pasta. Black risotto was average.
The view from the Terrace is very nice.

Decorated rusticaly with antiques and metal art sculptures our restaurant will offer you a warm atmosphere combined with excelent local specialties and international cuisine.
We stopped on a recommendation from a helpful woman named Susie, who was from this area (Neretva River delta). She recommended the restaurant and the local delicacy: stewed eels and frogs (Brudet Jegulja Zabe). The staff were very friendly and the waiter was happy when...MoreDear guest, Thank you for your review, we were glad to hear you enjoied your visit to our restaurant and hope to see you again soon.
