It was an overcast day, which didn't help the atmosphere. The owner ran the front of house alone which meant understandable lengthy pauses between service. We chose the set lunch which started with a well stocked buffet which featured some interesting home made pates. The duck leg main was...MoreHI Mc M, Thank you for your review, we take into account your remarks. This is a small attractive creperie located in the center of the Old Town. The restaurant is so popular that it was completely full by 12:30pm. The server was forced to hang a Complet sign on the door as people continued to stream in for a Saturday lunch. Many seemed to have Reservations. Despite being so busy, service was friendly and efficient. While our galettes may not have been the best we’ve eaten on our trip through Brittany, they were very good. We can definitely recommend eating here but you best arrive early.

This was the best meal we had in the two weeks of our holiday. Staff were friendly and the food was simply excellent, served in a relaxed atmosphere.. There is a good wine list. It was booked out on the Monday we were there, so would definitely advise a reservation.

We had a great time at La Fleur de Sel.
Very friendly and bilingual staff. Delicious food at very reasonable prices. Dishes were very tasty and had lots of greens and veggies.
I highly recommend the cheese course. They have French cheese of course as well as cheese from Belgium, Switzerland. Super!

Another restaurant in a lovely location by the river.
By turning up early we were lucky to get an indoor table.
A warm welcome and surprisingly good service followed as it was very very busy.
The soupe de poisson was excellent & arrived with all the typical accompaniments. I had the magret de canard which was cooked medium as I requested. A large tasty duck breast. The chips were just OK-not crispy & inclined to be greasy;a few veg on the side would have been nice rather than just a bit of salad. The lamb was tasty but again a bit light on extras as it came with a small potato rosti & a small portion of mixed veg. Someone with a healthy appetite could be disappointed.
For desserts we chose the chocolate mousse-very good & a creme brûlée with Grande Marnier- not sure where the alcohol was.
Overall some of the dishes could with a bit of effort be transformed from passable to excellent.
The total bill with a half bottle of wine & a bottle of water was €77. Almost very good.

We had lunch here twice recently and decided to try dinner ,again a small but interesting menu with good flavours and ingredients. Our best dish this trip was a casseroled quail ,absolutely scrumptious.Portions are generous without being overwhelming, bread, coffee and house wine all good Sevice is charming and friendly. It is terrific to find a small good value venue that maintains its passion.

we had a very good diner in a very pleasant atmosphere. the restaurant is modern and quiet. good ambiance. the staff is friendly and attentive. we had the €29 menu and it was truly surprisingly good. 'joues de boeuf': superb. duckling: delicious and the desert - strawberries and rhubarb - brought tears to my eyes! whenever I'll visit Dinan again I know where to go for diner.

No web address. But easily found via Google.
The location perfect, the food good, but sitting inside and all the time people waiting at the counter is rather disturbing. The people friendly but the humor of the owner is most probably typical for him because I don't understand his jokes. Anyway, food good, good location but room for some improvements.

Overnighting In Dinan for the first time , I scouted out this restaurant on Friday night , just off the north west corner of the main square , Place Duguesclin . I had trouble believing their thursday/friday night special menu - there seemed to be too much weird & exciting good stuff on it . Especially for €15 ! (see picture ) Having fetched wife , who was game for something different , we settled in .The charming lady who served us assured us the menu was everything- no choices neccessary .
The decor was crisp , modern and tasteful,so we feared that it might be some kind of trendy dinner ( minuscule lumps on a tin foil ) but just the opposite .
Each of the four courses was impeccably served on a plate, with fresh cutlery ,and got better & better ;.now here you really have to look at my picture of the menu, cause there's too much to describe, without getting you drooling . With a fine Bordeaux, mineral water & coffees the bill came to €60 . A steal . (my favourite was the magret de canard , but wife is still reminiscing about the sweet - baba limoncello)
We spoke with charming waitress, and later the chef , (her husband & co-owner) ,came out , and apparently they only took over the restaurant six months ago .
We expect this meal to be the high point of our holiday - definitely a gastronomic adventure , as the menu promises . Only afterwards did we realise that we felt well fed, despite not having seen a potato /noodle or such all evening .
Conclusion : tremendous price/quality/taste/enjoyment ratio .Go before they put the prices up !

My family and I travelled to Dinan and thoroughly enjoyed the town and walks. The river walk to Lehon is particularly easy and ends up at the Abbey. On returning to Lanvallay we eat some savoury and sweet crepes at the Board de Rance which were delicious. Xavier and Emily are the perfect hosts and also rent out bicycles. This is a great place to eat early. Later the area quietens down.
