Ratskeller is a German restaurant located in the City Hall building in the main Market Square in Dessau. It's a really cool building and the interior of the restaurant is beautiful as well. It has a very old feel. For dinner, I had chicken schnitzel, which was pretty good. The menus were in German, so I needed a colleague to translate. I wasn't sure about the schnitzel, but I was pleasantly surprised. And of course as a German restaurant, they had very good beer. The service was OK. It was a little slow. We had arrived rather late and so we were all hungry. It took nearly an hour from taking our order to getting our food. It also took a while to get the check when we were finished. The restaurant was mostly empty, so not sure why it was so slow. Besides that, it was a good meal and the location was really great. It's worth a stop visit just to see the building.

Not so easy to find as it's situated outside the town centre, not too far from the Elbe. We came here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it - attentive staff, a thoughtful menu with well-prepared food and good wines. Delighted to find they served smaller portions for those who don't want a full meal at lunchtime - the spinach dumplings with cabbage may not sound up to much, but were really delicious. Our companions also appreciated the ox cheeks and the fried zander. it's not a place to have a quick meal, in so give yourself time

We had an excellent cheesecake in the afternoon and a really good breakfast in the morning with a perfect boiled egg. The room was fun with the outside lawn at eyelevel.

I ate dinner at El Greco restaurant in Dessau. I was staying at the Radisson, and it was just a short walk from the hotel. I had a real nice business dinner here with work colleagues. The service was very good. The servers brought us menus in English and answered any questions we had about the dishes. There was a large selection of Greek options. I had the lamb and it was very good. I also tried German beer and shots of Ouzo. Overall, it was a good dining experience and would eat here again if I had to return to Dessau.

In a refurbished brewery, relax amongst the brass and cooper workings to a good selection of German foods from the local area, enjoy craft beers. Lots of Seating and tables inside and out in summer. Dessau is limited regarding restaurants and this is one to visit

We were visiting the Bauhaus in Dessau and sought an alternative to a river side restaurant closed due to a holiday. It turned out to be the best impromptu change in plans as we discovered this gem of a restaurant.
While the decor was nothing to get excited about, the friendliness of the staff and real Greek food, made the way it might be made by a Yiayia, was delicious. From super garlicky tzatziki to juicy gigantes and a lovely baked lamb dish, each item was well prepared and tasty. We were only sorry we had no room for dessert as the portions were very generous.
The service was also excellent and our server, Constandinos, was both charming and helpful, even willing to speak to me with my rusty, partial Greek.
If anything takes you to the Dessau area and you like good food, go there. We would have returned a second evening but they were closed on Tuesdays.

I was in dessau for one night and went to Goa for takeaway. The food was perfectly decent, but the restaurant is cash-only, which is not advertised anywhere online so I only realized once I arrived. Not ideal. They also didn't pack any cutlery with the takeaway, leaving me with no alternative than to eat with my hands.

Very nice restaurant in centre of Dessau. Great pizzas, good pastas, perfect service speaking well English. Only would recommend to have menus in English too, not everybody visiting Dessau speaks German:-) visited them twice and would gladly come again.
