Restaurant Wambinge is named after the oldest village on Texel. Characteristic is the warm atmosphere and the fantastic location by the water. Here you definitely taste the heart of authenticity. The power of simplicity reflects in the tasty dishes. Restaurant Wambinge is based on the classic French kitchen whereby the products from Texel reign supreme. Naturally we let the seasons play a role in the dishes we serve. You can enjoy 3 to 7 course menus or you can make your own choice from our often-varying, seasonal menu. Whatever your wish, we will cater for a pleasant, culinary evening. From an intimate dinner for two to an extensive family dinner or buffet.
Trying to get a last minute restaurant table brought is here. It is a hotel restaurant so we had some Reservations when we went there. We where quite surprisedby the quality. Not only the food but also the service by the staff. Portion size are more then reasonable. If you are around, try to go here for diner.

Great (pannekoeken) restaurant located in an old farm building. Every time we visit Texel we try to visit this restaurant at least once. When planning a visit during the winter season please make sure it's open! The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, great fireplace, friendly people and of course delicious pancakes. definitely worth a visit when you are on the island!!

Situated on the central market, De Lindeboom is part of the hotel of the same name.
We ordered à la carte, it was asparagus season, so we ordered those. A bit overcooked, but still delicious.
But we had a waiter who dropped part of the meal in my wife's lap, spilled all of the sauce onto the table, and when he got the plates onto the table without spilling anything, this caused a spontaneous applause from a german company sitting at another table. A bit out of place for a somewhat 'classy' restaurant.
The meal was good and for a reasonable price. We would certainly recommend it, but beware of the 'spilling' waiter.

We had a great diner with excellent lamb and pork skewers. The wine was surprisingly good compared to other restaurants. We did not have the most friendly waitress in town however but that's ok.

In the centre if the shopping area we ate inside at this cosy restaurant which was comfortable with a relaxed ambiance. The asparagus soup was thick and delicious and very reasonably priced

After my last review, the quality seems to have stayed on par. Good quality food in general, some nice dishes. Unfortunately the prices went up and the speed of the kitchen output down.

I dont have to tell you this restaurant serves excellent food, the star tells you that, so let's focus on how this place stands out. First the location. Texel is a beautiful and tranquil island. Now imagine one of the smallest villages there and here you find the restaurant. A good 30 min walk to the beach (through the dunes) helps to feel in a different world and raise some appetite at the same time. Secondly the restaurant manages to keep that tranquil feeling. Weather was good so we had drinks and amuses outside, enjoying the weather. The restaurant itself is small but spacious and the staff are very correct without being overly formal.
Being on an island reflects on the guess as well. People who want to enjoy. No business diners.
Then the food. Everything we hoped for and a lot more. Taking full advantage of everything you expect from the island itself and the see (seafood, lamb right up to local cheeses).
There are many good restaurants but here all comes together in a perfect way. We will be back.

De Luwte Tasty Honest Refined Restaurant De Luwte is located in the center of Den Burg on the island of Texel. We cook with a lot of the fine produce that the island, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea have to offer. Vegetables, herbs and edible flowers from the Gardens of Texel. Sea Bass just caught with the pinnace and flatfish from the cutter, cockles from the mudflats and lamb from our salty meadows. But of course we also fetch products from the Mainland. The seasons play an important role in the menu. A number of dishes are changed weekly and on the blackboards there is always a daily special. The dishes are simple, playful and sophisticated with ingredients that are predominantly grown organically. Our wine list is small, but has a number of fine wines that are carefully tailored to our menu. Restaurant de Luwte is open every tuesday to saturday from 17.30h. The kitchen is open until 22.00h. When the weather permits there is limited opport to sit outside
Last minute booking, bit of a long shot, turned out to be one of our best meals of the year. Excellent ingredients, well prepared and presented with care. Very good value. Limited choice on the menu but what they do they do very well - a very good approach. Both the local lamb and the cod were outstanding. The young man serving has a good future in this industry. Well worth a visit, even worth visiting the island for. We will return.

We came across this place after we'd eaten but we were welcomed in to have a drink in the bar area. Sitting in comfy armchairs in front of a lovely old style hearth, admiring the stylish decor and enjoying excllent wine and a Texel's beer cheered us up after a bad experience in a different restaurant. Next time we will eat here!

On the spot where the schout (sheriff) ate with his companions, is now a characteristic restaurant. The modern kitchen provides a glimpse to the VOC history. The chefs use a range of spices from the East. Eating in the ‘t Schoutenhuys is a definite adventure. We serve the greatest dishes, sized down. “Taste and experience Texel” receives a new dimension.‘Gerechies’You can order various ‘Gerechies’ from the menu. Delicious mini dishes that can be enjoyed through out the evening. Baked mussels, stuffed lambs ham, an oyster with chutney or cheese fondue. Whatever you are served: they are piece-by-piece tasty bites. Sometimes a sturdy ‘bite’ and sometimes with an original character.Taste sensationYou can choose a number of warm or cold ‘Gerechies’, just what you fancy. Would you like to eat more? Then just order extra. There is something tasty for everyone on the menu. To make things easier we have compiled a few menus. You can share a table with friends, family or just the two of you: ‘t Schoutenhuys will offer you an unforgettable culinary evening.
The Het Schoutenhuys is located in an old historical building in the center of Den Burg. There are some menus a la carte, but the real attraction are the gerechies (little bits like the spanish Tapas or the Arabian Mezze). These are between 5 and...MoreDear Ronald, thank you for you're kinds words. I'm happy to read that you're visit with us was so satisfying. Hope to see you again on Texel and in our restaurant.
