This restaurant is conveniently located alongside an Irving gas station right along the Trans Canada highway. I stopped in here for lunch while working at the Irving. The service was a little slow despite the fact it wasn't very busy and there were several waitresses on duty.
I had the pan fried cod which came with carrots, mashed potatoes and biscuit. It was all quite delicious, especially the fresh cod.
Definitely a good place to stop for a meal

My husband and I ate here two evenings and had two breakfasts that were included in out hotel booking. The servings are generous and the food is quite acceptable, but nothing exceptional. The meal-sized garden salad was fresh and tasty. The pan-fried cod was good.
The breakfast includes fried eggs, easy over, fried potatoes, baked beans, sausages, yogourt, fresh fruit (melon and pineapple) plus the usual fare. A continental breakfast begins at 3:30 a.m. to accommodate air travelers. The airport is very close by and easy to reach via the Trans-Canada highway which passes right in front of the hotel.
Access to second-storey rooms is by stairs only.
The room was adequate, clean and everything - fridge, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and WiFi worked fine.

Our Italian inspired menu has a variety of mouthwatering food that is sure to appeal to everyone’s taste. A few hours ago we decided to go for some pizza and garlic fingers. The fingers were a little greasy but otherwise very tasty. The pizza was not cooked fully discussed this with staff and they brought it back 10 minutes later same thing. We waited over an hour for hour food. There was no apology no how is everything no would you like a refill just put the bill(47$)on the table and walked away.Wouldn't recommend.

Quaint little take-out with a touch of Retro to take you back to the good ol' days! Fries Hamburger Meat and Gravy, Onion Rings, Taters, Chicken and to drink many flavors of CRUSH try newfoundland's own Birch Beer and Pineapple!! we got it all at The Spud in Deer Lake, NL
After Reading all the reviews, I was really excited to try the onion rings. Such a letdown. I paid $6.35 ($5.50+tax) for 5 large and crunchy, but very greasy, overly-breaded, flavourless pieces. That works out to over $1.25/ring, and if they'd been at all tasty, I might be less disappointed. However, there was no redeeming value to these onion rings. The place was empty, so there was no busy crowd or overworked staff to make excuses for, either.

This restaurant has a large menu and especially local favorites and seafood. I enjoyed local blue mussels, cod tongues, fries and of course iceberg beer. If you don't want to try tongues and then salmon or baked cod are for you.

When travelling, I like to go to Tim Horton's for a bowl of chili served with a long bun for just $4.69. It's a filling dish that takes me right through to supper. Besides, it's the most reasonable lunch and with the beans, a healthy one. The chili at this Tim Horton's was served piping hot, but the bun was at room temperature and untoasted - just great for dunking into the saucy dish.
The line was up to the entrance door at lunch on the day I was there and moving slowly. When I finally got to the order counter, the service was fast as I didn't have a drink which the order girl had to fill unlike those customers ahead of me. I would think that if there was another person filling the drink orders, the service at the order counter would be faster. Tim's offers a sit down area with tables and chairs as well as booths. We shared a table with 2 other people as the restaurant was busy, but that's OK as we had at least a place to sit and eat. Since the line for ordering food was still long after I had finished my meal, I decided not to have one of Tim's tempting pastries and maybe a coffee to take away.
Clean restrooms had no line ups. Tim's is located beside the TCHighway with several other fast food eateries side by side so it's not a problem if someone in the car does not want a Tim's meal. Parking was spacious.

Lots of flavours, textures, and ways of serving! Not a lot of space to sit and, chairs are cheap plastic. Is open last spring until labour day...Could be open year round!
