Things to do in Collioure

Tipped off by friends who had just stayed in Collioure, we secured two seats at the kitchen counter for an evening. Though at first we'd wanted a table, we quickly changed our minds. My boyfriend has owned restaurants, and I've worked in them, and we both rank food and wine among our highest pleasures. So a front row seat to chef Masashi Iijima's work turned into a real theater for us. His quiet command of his small staff (one deputy, one prep, and a clean-up person) engaged us as he prepared the evening's set menu. We chose the higher end of the two offered, the degustation, plus paired wines, and we thoroughly enjoyed the fusion of French, Catalonian, and Japanese tastes and techniques he delivered. Flavors were seasonal and fresh, with familiar and unfamiliar ingredients used in surprising ways. From the amuse bouche to the dessert, we didn't feel a single note was off key. We look forward to a return visit on our next trip.

Chef Frédéric Bacquié, Restaurant Manager, invites you to enjoy a fine cuisine made with fresh local seasonal products. The Terrace overlooking the bay and the Restaurant refurbished in 2014 offers you an amazing view on Collioure and the Church
We have visited this restaurant seven times over the last few years. It never disappoints. The location is fantastic, with incredible views across the bay to Collioure from the Terrace, where it's normal to eat unless the weather is inclement.
The staff are wonderful and attentive without being intrusive. English speaking staff are always on hand for those who are less confident with speaking French.
The food has been excellent on each occasion that we have dined and it is always interesting both in terms of flavour and presentation.
This year, we left the choice of wine to the sommelier and chose to have a glass of something different with each course. It was a great decision.
The set menus are very good and, at the lower end of the scale, are really not expensive considering that this is a Michelin starred restaurant. We have eaten off both the cheapest set menu and the intermediate one. Both have been excellent. We wouldn't bother with the A la carte menu because we've found the set menus to be so good.
The limited parking really isn't an issue for anyone staying in Collioure as the place is relatively small and is easily navigable on foot. Although not in the heart of the town, the restaurant is just a few minutes walk from the town centre.
I think that this is the best place in which I've eaten because of both the location (it really is stunning) and the quality of the food. Long may it continue!

Thursday evening: service, food and value all highly recommended.
We shared a Dorade Royale - wonderful doesn't do it justice.
Alas my wife ate her fill quite early on, so I just had to ......
We are here for 7 nights and will certainly eat here again at least once.

Accueil de groupes,séminaires et autres sur demandes.Équipe jeune et attentive à l'attente du client.Terrasse agréable
Ate here during an overnight trip in Collioure, on recommendation from the chambre d'hotes where we stayed. Really pleasant evening although the restaurant was not very busy (Tuesday night in early March). Service was pleasant and efficient.
My wife enjoyed the huge prawns as a starter, I had the fish soup (which was slightly thin in texture for my personal taste). The turbot and the duck as mains were both real winners. Our hostess asked us if we had the duck when we returned - clearly a favourite of hers too!

We booked in advance which I'd recommend as it got busy. We were the first ones in at 7.30 but it quickly filled up. The waitress spoke good English but we tried our bestist French. The menu as earlier noted is small but offers fish, pièce dû boucherie, can't remember the others. But the menu had changed from the last review. We shared the charcuterie plate with cheese which was lovely. The mains were very nice indeed and the wine is excellent with choice and price. I'd recommend the cafe gourmand as dessert if it offers the tarte citron as it was incredible. OH loved his choice too. Would recommend to eat here.

Very friendly and helpful staff managed to get us a table at very short notice and at the hieght of lunch. Collioure was really mobbed. The luch was great, the service was great and we ended up making friends with people at the next table. A lovely restaurant. Highly recommended.

In a small side street, Le Vauban has a great menu choice, happy and helpful staff and is a great spot to spend the evening. Small inside but with Seating in the street, we spent a lovely evening eating fresh fish sitting outside in the lovely evening light. Menu choice for all here, will go back again soon. Thank you to the team at Le Vauban.

We stopped in here one evening for some beers. The main man pointed out that it was a restaurant but they'd accommodate us as they were quite quiet. The food looked nice so we decided to pay a return journey.
On our 2nd visit the place looked just as inviting with probably half the tables free. Unfortunately the main man was working alone doing both the cooking and waiting so service was understandably slow. However the food was well worth waiting for.
Would definitely go to Els Taps again!

Traditional French restaurant, working with locals farmers. Every day fresh wild fish. ( Farm fish is not allowed in this restaurant ). Nice selection of local wine, also selection of local organic wine. Wonderful outside Seating in summer.
This is a little restaurant (really little!). It has a limited but good menu with good value for 3 courses at 26 euros. Great choice of wine. Appetiser of jamon was good, pork main ok, the monkfish excellent. The service was excellent. The Seating is very tight, so a little uncomfortable if you are tall or large. Overall a very pleasant lunch- I would visit again.

This tapas bar is in a beautiful, secluded location and is very atmospheric. All of the dishes we had are incredible, particularly the mussels. You won't regret ordering them!
The only gripe I have is that it isn't open too often (we visited Collioure in August last year). Its opening times are sporadic so it can be difficult to visit. When you spot it open, make sure you go and grab a bite to eat because you might not catch it open again!
