This small and cosy restaurant is a good choice when staying in Chartes. The food is great, the portions large and the staff very friendly. There is a good choice of dishes on the menu with most of the Indian specialties. The naan is really good and I loved the butter chicken! You get value for your money. We will definitely return when staying in Chartes!

We came for late dinner and find this place occasionally. Nice atmosphere. Very good homecooking style food. Good sized portion. Tasty beer (Monaco). Reasonable (not cheap) prices. The waiter was very friendly and enthusiastic. Overall good dining experience. Strongly recommended.

I was given a very warm welcome at this charming restaurant and dined in the courtyard on a beautiful summer day. The roast pork was excellent but the dessert was a little contrived and over-sweetened with baked pear, whipped cream and caramel sauce. Nonetheless, this...MoreThank you for your lovely comments for us it s a good way to keep getting better Thank you very much Sincerely's mr Monnier

Nous sommes fermes le dimanche soir,le lundi et le mardi
We were 3 ladies seated on Terrace last Sunday ~ Fréderic was our server. He said he didn't speak English (we speak French well enough) but in the end, I realized he does speak it sufficiently to help you with questions ~ just not to the standard he would want, which we can attest was VERY high!! He took impeccable care of us.
TIP: if Fréderic is your server, let HIM pick the wine! He will select wines from the Loire Valley that are perfect for the food, which was the best meal I had yet on this trip and as good as any I ever had.
The lamb looked amazing ~ most people were ordering it & we should have.
The ceasar type salad was very good, but I would go for other dishes instead were I to do it again.
The Foie Gras entrée (with excellent apricot chutney) was very generous & absolutely perfect.
BEST goat cheese salad any of us had every had (goat cheese was runny, inside crepes made crispy in a pan with butter; the greens and tomatoes were succulent)
An à la carte lunch (no "ardoise" avail on Saturdays) very reasonably priced, we felt it was worth every centime and would have gladly paid more. For 3 ladies, two of whom had two different wines (a sweet Coteaux de Layon for the foie gras & a red Sauternes with our main dishes), total bill 105 euros.
Merci, Fréderic

Quirky bistro close to Cathedral, doesn't take bookings but opened at 7:00pm so we arrived early. Friendly people running restaurant, English menu offered as alternative to French but not just handed to us. Service attentive but not over the top. Small, interesting menu with daily specials added. Poule au pot was delicious and a spoon was provided to eat lovely golden stock. Relaxed surroundings.

Only fresh procduts, home made cooking in an historical room, next to the Cathedral!
We had an unforgettably delightful evening in this charming little restaurant beside the Cathedral. From the impeccably blended welcome cocktail (kir fait maison) to the luscious appetizers, followed by the succulent main dishes and topped off with those orgasmic desserts, we were very impressed! One can certainly tell that they use fresh in-season products. The service was great and congenial, the servings just proper, and the prices were right. I loved the quaint & cozy setup inside. The dinner we had is as impeccable as the light show with the glimmering Chartres Cathedral from the windows. Aaahhh, that was such a lovely treat!

A simple menu with a few 'formules'. Fresh mostly seasonal and local ingredients ( there was salmon all the way from Norway which read like capitulation to tourists on a diet). Simply prepared dishes without fanfare or extravagance. Just good. Reasonably priced. Attentive service. I had well prepared ( not as common as one would like) sweetbreads. I'll eat here again. It is a quiet place best suited for a romantic dinner.

Enjoyed several lovely meals here. Simple but excellent quality and presentation. Very good value too and delicious local wine.
